Have tried opening a Mperks account but can never access my account online and in the store. Tried using the Scan and Go in the mobile app but it wouldn't work checking out at the register. The Meijer cashier tried 3 different registers but they all would not work. Had to unbag my whole cart into another cart and process my whole order again. I did the work of shopping, scanning, bagging, trying to get the checkout to process my payment, unbagging my entire order into an empty card, scanning every item myself thru the register, rebagging my entire order, and paying for my order. I had no help from a Meijer employee. My cold items and perishable items were warm by the time I was done. Calling Customer Service for help with my Mperks account did not solve my problems. I now have two separate Mperks accounts under two emails with two different phone numbers and NEITHER ACCOUNT CAN BE OPENED IN THE MEIJER MPERKS APP!!! Meijer must be going out of business. Very few employees in the store are knowledgeable. Since Covid, Meijer prefers customers to pay for pickup, delivery, and Boost membership. You pay for membership, they shop for you either substituting items you ordered or you don't get the products you wanted. You use pickup or home delivery and half your order is missing but you were charged for the whole order. You then have to call and go back to the store and prove you didn't receive your items.
This is not the way I want to buy my groceries. I want to stop at a grocery, push my cart and pick up what I need, go to a checkout and have a cashier assist me with unloading my items, have my items bagged and put in my cart, and even get assistance loading my purchases into my vehicle.
Now you find employees stocking shelves while customers maneuver around them trying to shop. These employees aren't able to assist you with locating an item, picking the correct fruit or vegetable, choosing the right cut of meat, etc. Customer Service is getting help from employees throughout the store but BIG GROCERY CHAINS LIKE MEIJER don't care about providing a service. They care about their profits. After all we all need to eat. They keep eliminating jobs and expect customers to do all the work.
I would like to see small businesses open groceries and hire employees who enjoy helping customers .... A family atmosphere. I used to shop at grocery on Griswold & 11th, 10th Ave & Pine Grove, Wally's in Marysville, River District, shopping center grocery on Pine Grove before lumber yard, and Griswold & 20th. These were friendly places to shop. I enjoyed shopping and seeing the regular customers and employees. A stress free environment that has been replaced by Big Food and Shopping Chains that sell you memberships in...
Read moreVery disappointed with Meijer of Marysville. We live in a different state and were visiting family in Michigan. Meijer is always a store we love to stop and shop at. My son and I went in there to grab a few things. Upon entry, we noticed there was a sign saying executive order, mask required. We always wear a mask everywhere not just because it is required, but for everyone's safety. It's common sense. Once we went inside Meijer we began walking around and notice so many people not wearing any mask at all. I would say maybe 50% of the people were wearing a mask and the rest weren't. My son and I were shocked. What's the point of having a sign outside your place of business that says "executive order mask required" if your not going to enforce it at all? This tells me that Meijer is either too lazy to enforce executive orders or perhaps they don't care if their customers don't follow. Also their lack of enforcement shows they don't care about customers safety or health, or of that of their own employees. We grabbed what we needed and got out of there asap. I was very shocked and upset seeing this because in our state you wouldn't find anyone in any store without a mask on. People and businesses are very compliant about the mask polices. Meijer on the other hand...
Read moreWent there 3 different times today to get thanksgiving and Christmas stuff. The first two time was great then at 9:30pm at night. The service coordinator GREG. Wasn’t any were being nice, I offered to walk him back to show him where I found the leggings, wouldn’t even listen to what I or my fiancé had to say. So we left without paying for anything and upset because he lied about having a manger being in the store. So when I left the store I called Meijer talked to a manger named Cindy, not only she called me a liar she told me Greg already told her everything but the fact he 1 wouldn’t help us out 2 lied about having a manger in the store. 3 just wasn’t understanding what was actually going on and was rude to everyone he spoke to. 4 told my fiancé and I that he was the manger / supervisor which Cindy said he wasn’t..... Honestly I work in the public and the way he spoke to me and my fiancé was uncalled for, not appropriate or respectful. I see why I don’t go to Marysville very much. I will rather drive to Fort Gratiot where the lines are shorter and everyone is way nicer, and they actually care more about listening to the customer, then being rude.plus it’s not ran by a bunch of rude kids / people. Won’t go back...
