The Capitol Theatre ice cream place NEVER disappoints. The menu has a lot of variety from ice cream to shakes to affogatos. It's always a great place to stop by after dinner for a sweet treat.
They have espresso, tea, hot chocolate, a variety of ice cream flavours, shakes, floats, smoothies, and even affogatos. The "nerd" theme of the place carries on to the menu as they have created a variety of pop culture themed menu items like Platform 3/4, The One Ring, and The Emerald City.
The price is great for the portions you get. You can eat your treat inside the beautifully designed theatre, at the outside tables right in the middle of Downtown Maryville, or the classic diner-like tables inside the nerdily decorated main dining area. There's even functional replicas on the tables!
Additionally, the workers are always friendly and helpful. They give you a sample if you wanna try an ice cream flavour and they'll bring your ice cream to you wherever you...
Read moreMade a stop in after our dinner about 10 min away after a craving for ice cream and what a great choice!! Did not even know this place existed but I'm glad we looked it up. Beautiful decor on the inside to make it feel like an actual movie theater with themes at the booths and around the tables. Along with coffee drinks named after movies and ice cream treats that sounded amazing. After looking over the menu, we finally decided on the Double Feature sundaes (vanilla ice cream with a Ghirardelli chocolate Square and chacolate sauce along with plenty of peanut butter mixed in.....PERFECT. They came in old fashioned sundae glasses and they handcrafted them behind the counter. (Be patient, they go as fast as they can and they come out great! Kindness goes a long way.) So cool to just sit in and look at all the posters and chat or even sit outside. Go take a look! You...
Read moreI loved everything about this spot! It’s so cute with all the fun movie memorabilia and the menu is really creative with all kinds of ice cream treats. Gene took my order and was so welcoming. This is the kind of place I love finding on a small town, Main Street. Something unique with great service. I got a scoop of vanilla ice cream and added hot fudge and peanut butter. It might have made more sense, money wise, to order a sundae, but I didn’t want 2 scoops of ice cream. I liked how the bowl was frosty cold and the topping were warm. I had a nice time eating my dessert while taking in all the cool items. The theater itself is really nice. This place just made me feel very nostalgic and happy. I’d definitely recommend this local gem and will be back to try one of the specialty items...
