Avoid the chili, when asked if its made from scratch and if its a good chili, the comment was well I made both, and head bobbed and smiled, so I got the chili and sandwich, the sandwich is always good, however I couldn't eat much of the chili, it wasn't made by an experienced person, there was meat-beans- and enough chili powder for a full pot of chili, inedible! :( I have no idea what the other soups taste like, however she said she made the bean soup too. Stopped in here for lunch over the weekend while stopping up here in Mason City. Immediately when I walked in I could tell that the people running it care for it and the service they give.

All 3 of the people working were extremely nice and made me feel like a regular. The food was fantastic - I had a tenderloin, which was breaded right then and there. Prices were great too.

Great little hole in the wall for some really good food. If I lived here, I'd definitely stop...

What a delicious old fashioned maidrite sandwich! Never had one with the hamburger cooked that way and it was fantastic! They give you a large amount of meat that will satisfy anyone! The waffle fries are homemade and go great with everything! The chili cheese dog was so yummy! Don't forget to wash it down with a fresh root beer! My favorite restaurant in Mason and I love the old time cafe feel! Give it try!...
