We ordered a tart black cherry margarita and was given some type of margarita that wasnât on the menu. We asked the waitress why we didnât get the drink we ordered and she said âWe donât sell that drink because itâs against Iowaâs alcohol content law.â They said they would not charge us for the drink and would take it away. The way she said it was very rude. We told her that the drink was ok. She still insisted of taking the drink and not charging us for it. She never apologized and showed no empathy at all for not informing us that drink wasnât on the menu. Some other server tried to tell us it was the drink we ordered, it clearly didnât look like the picture at all. The plain audacity not to offer to comp the drink was ridiculous. We were never told it wasnât on the menu when we ordered it. The attitude we got was how dare you question anything we do. The next thing that happened is they brought out 1 of meals instead of both at the same time. The American Cheeseburger they brought was burnt and I smelled that the meat itself was burnt. We told a server and I told her I could smell the meat burnt and in a very rude response she says itâs just the cheese burnt. The attitude we got was like you have to accept any food we bring you. Not one ounce of understanding was shown. It felt like they could care less and that us trying to say something about wasnât acceptable. At this point we got up and went to the cash register. The manager came out dressed completely unprofessional, no dress shirt, hair a mess, and just a unclean look. We expressed our complaints to him and the only thing he said is he would take the other sandwich off our bill that wasnât even served to us. He didnât even apologize or acknowledge our concerns. He couldâve comped our drinks and our mozzarella sticks for the terrible service we had. No one even cared about how rude we were treated. This is a terrible run location. This was around 3:30 pm...
Read moreWorst experience at the Mason City restaurant. First arrived at restaurant with sign inside saying we are open but deep cleaning in process. Should have left right than, but we did drive 45 minutes so decided to stay. Right in the center of the restaurant was several tables with open cleaning supplies and used /dirty rags and several workers all eating Jimmy John's. They sat us as well as anybody else that walked in as close to the mess as possible. We were in a booth right next to all of the cleaning stuff and it was discussing smelled like a dirty locker room mixed with chemicals, even though the rest of the restaurant was clean and open. The booth was disgusting, food all over the seats, and something spilled on the other seats. Menus handed to us we're dirty and sticky. Ordered food and was told it would be out when ready, food came out at all different times, by the time last person food arrived the first person was already done. Food was to be expected except for the bar pizza, it came and was unedible. There was hardly anything on it but was drenched in sauce. Which says a lot because I love extra sauce on everything normally but this was terrible. A plate of sauce with a side of unmeltable cheese and crust. The waitress although was very friendly never checked back with us to see how our food was, we did not see her again until she brought the bill and asked if we wanted a box which we told her no the pizza was disgusting and unedible hence the reason we never ate it. She apologized and took it off the bill, but even so will not be going back anytime soon. Not a pleasant experience, they need to...
Read moreThey just sent my fiancé to the ER tonight. He has a severe allergy. We made it known to the waitress who said that she would inform the kitchen staff. I'm not sure if she did or not but he ended up getting a sauce that contained the ingredient he's allergic to. They tried to tell us it was the correct sauce he ordered. When they gave us another, this time it being the correct one, there was a VERY distinct difference in the smell and taste. They also tried to tell us that the sauce they handed us before didn't contain this ingredient. When looked up online, it very clearly states that ingredient is in it. Though we already knew this seeing as it's a pretty basic base for this type of sauce. We understand that many restaurants can't always accommodate allergies. But rather than committing false promises of being able to take care of the allergy and at least owning up to the mistake instead of trying to deny it, maybe next time simply explain that you can't accommodate. That would've been better cause then we could've safely found a different place to go instead of risking his health. It just angers me that we now have a hospital bill, and a safety issue and no one took accountability for it. We didn't even get an apology or an offer for any assistance. Instead when we asked for our waitress to take the first sauce back to try and see if anyone could tell us what it was we never got an answer and no manager even came out. Overall, this was a horrible and terrifying experience. Do better. Before you get...
