This restaurant just opened and I tried it for lunch for the first time today. WOW! Quality was through the roof, extremely tasty, freshly made from scratch, and truly Indian and not "Americanized Indian". Spice level of 9/10 was hot enough for me, "Americanized" Indian restaurants that use a lot of cream and weak spice don't cut it for me.
Disclaimer, if you don't like REAL Indian food you won't like this as much. I however don't like "Americanized" versions so I loved it. Most of the diners were Indian too, good sign for me!
The pricing here is very fair, $10.99 for a good portion of curry and rice, then $1.99 for traditional naan.
I got Paneer Tikka Masala and plain Naan. The owners asked me how my meal was and I told them it was outstanding. My wait was quite long, around 40 minutes since ordering. An owner explained to me that everything is done from scratch and nothing is pre made or bought in and to allow for time. The food was worth the wait! A worker apologized for the long wait time and explained they got way too many orders at once. I get it, Saturday lunch rush as a new business.
I was going to knock the rating down to a 3 star due to my 1st visit. I stopped by a few days earlier at 3pm expecting to order a meal. Nobody was in the front of house, I finally walked back and asked if anyone was there. Sigh said they were open as did Google.
I was told they were "on break" and couldn't make me a curry, only Biryanis. I told them I was a first time customer and they still turned me away. As a new business in this competitive environment I would have appreciated them making my meal. Google said they were open, if they are only making Biryanis between 2:30 and 5pm I think putting that on the website would be a good idea.
I brought this issue up with owners and they were understanding. Apparently they are experimenting with the menu, etc. being a newly opened business.
Overall, excellent experience and I can't wait to become a regular with this level of...
Read moreWe ordered the Veg Samosa Chaat, Gobi Manchurian, and Chicken 65 Biryani, along with two soft drinks. The total came to $51.00 which felt quite expensive for just two appetizers and one regular meal. Unfortunately, the experience did not justify the cost.
The service was extremely disappointing. The person at the front clearly lacked basic customer service training. I had come with my girlfriend, hoping for a fun and casual date trying Indian food. But from the start, things went wrong.
First, they got our order wrong, bringing out Chicken Manchurian instead of Gobi Manchurian, even after we clearly asked for vegetarian. My girlfriend is a vegetarian, so this was a major issue. We were told the wait time would be 30 minutes, but it ended up taking significantly longer. When I went and kept my complaint ( about the manchurian ) to the guy at the front, he just said "It's Ok" Like what do you mean It's ok ?? It was clearly not Ok after making us wait more time and brining us wrong order dude.
The food itself was underwhelming. The Chicken 65 Biryani lacked flavor and had just one curry leaf tossed in nothing like the bold flavor we expected. The Samosa Chaat barely had any samosa in it and tasted more like a basic chana chaat. We also asked for no yogurt, but it was served with yogurt anyway. I didn’t bother sending it back because we had already dealt with the Chicken Manchurian issue I didn’t want to keep complaining and seem difficult.
That said, the experience really needs improvement. I’m not trying to be harsh or greedy, but my date was completely ruined, and my girlfriend left with a bad impression especially after we spent $51.00 on the meal.
It honestly makes me wonder do you even cater to American customers? Because with this level of service, it’s hard to see how anyone would want to return. Please consider some basic training in customer service and hospitality for your staff. A little effort in this area could go a long way in turning around...
Read moreI recently dined here, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of appalling. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the dining area was chaotic and poorly maintained. Tables and chairs were haphazardly arranged, and water stains—at least I hope they were just water stains—marred the surfaces. It was evident that cleanliness was not a priority here.
Unfortunately, it was too late to go elsewhere, so we had no choice but to endure. The tables lacked basic necessities like water. Food was served in takeout containers and dusty canteen trays, which was both unprofessional and unsanitary. To make matters worse, the main course arrived before the appetizers, and when we politely requested the naan to be taken back to avoid it getting cold, the server’s attitude was visibly unpleasant. Later, we discovered that one of our appetizers had been mistakenly served to another table, which only highlighted the staff’s lack of coordination.
The food itself was disastrous. The biryani, supposedly their specialty, was bland, stale, and inedible—we barely managed two bites. The naan was cold and clearly the same batch that had been returned earlier. Even the kebabs, the only redeemable dish, lacked the traditional chutney accompaniment. Overall, it was abundantly clear that freshness and quality were not priorities in their kitchen.
The service was equally abysmal, marked by confused and disorganized waitstaff who seemed more invested in maintaining a fake accent than providing competent service. While the owner later came out to apologize and appeared warm and apologetic, the damage had already been done. Poor service and substandard food are inexcusable.
I will never return to this restaurant and strongly advise others to steer clear. This was, without a doubt, one of the most disappointing dining experiences...
