Franico's Pizzeria & Trattoria — Restaurant in Matamoras

Only giving 2 stars because the pizza is really good. The delivery and service are the issues. Ordered delivery several times and each time it was at least 30 minutes late, however last night after being given a 1 hour delivery time I decided to call after 2 hours and was told there was a problem with a driver and they were remaking the food, commendable if a phone call was made to me instead of me having to call them. Food finally arrives approx 1-1/2 hours after promised delivery and the driver explains how busy they are. Two different stories. Take the delivery and by now we are really hungry, open the pizzas and 1 is wrong, couldn't get a pizza right in 2-1/2 hours. Didn't call to complain because probably would have to wait another 2+ hours for the right pizza. Seems to be a pattern of not being able to meet delivery times that they give. We will be ordering from somewhere else...

I’ve gotten 4 items delivered so far to my home. The Sicilian pie with garlic knots and sauce -which is much better than all the other pizza places I’ve tried. The cheese is NOT overly salty, they’re generous with it and the food comes hot and fresh. We also had the Italian sandwich (not the Italian sub/hero with all the meats) but their way of making a new sandwich. Tons of mayo, Romaine lettuce, tomato, Italian meats. (I forget what type), fresh roll. I have a small appetite but ate the entire thing. That’s how good and different it was! The Neapolitan pizza pie-plain. Good stuff. Going back for something different soon. Sorry I have no pictures. We ate it all. lol. Coming from an area that has a dozen pizza joints it’s been fun trying to find something we both really like and see things we haven’t seen on other menu’s. Maybe we will dine...

Extremely rude staff, extremely bad pizza. They like to pick up and hang up the phone on you when you call in to order, or they don't answer the phone at all. Their delivery times are ridiculously long even though they give you a reasonable time frame over the phone. Their delivery person expects a well paid tip even if your order is $5.50 and they're 30 mins past said time of arrival. When you call to check where your order is they are extremely rude about it. The pizza is disgustingly soggy and upsets the stomachs of anyone around me that eats it with me... So i know it's not just me having a hard time trying to stomach this disgusting food. It will be a very long time before i ever eat from here again. In fact, their rude arrogant staff and food made me put this business in the DO NOT...
