Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Matthews

I've eaten at this Jersey Mike's numerous times and the service and food has been good. Yesterday 3/3/23 my experience was not good. The staff is friendly and they just failed to deliver a satisfying experience on this trip. After waiting for about 20 minutes for a grilled cheese steak the #17 was prepared incorrectly and not as I ordered and on top of that the ingredients were contaminated with something that caused explosive diarrhea. I was having an excellent day until my meal. Additionally the staff was cleaning the tables with floral scented Clorox while customers are eating - customers do not not want to smell cleaning chemicals while eating a Sub. I would suggest to management to switch to unscented cleaners while customers are dining. I eat at Jersey Mike's all the time, first time at this location, the service was terrible. The young man behind the counter must have been having a bad night, his attitude was not to the Jersey mike standard that I am accustomed to. We told him we wanted tubs and he put them on bread and when I corrected him, his body language was, dam it. First, you didn't ask what bread I wanted, so how would you know what to put it on. Threw the tub together and threw the tub on the counter towards me. Customer Service is lacking at this location and should be key to your business, plenty of other options to pick from. This Jersey Mike’s location is hands-down my favorite, and it’s all thanks to the incredible team led by Manager Sam! Since Sam took over as GM, the entire atmosphere has improved — from the quality of service to the overall vibe of the store. Sam clearly leads by example; he’s professional, upbeat, and genuinely cares about both his customers and his team.

The associates are always friendly, fast, and get the orders right every time. And of course, the food is consistently amazing — fresh ingredients, perfectly made sandwiches, and generous portions.
