Went here for lunch, and although I did not have one of their reasonably priced lunch specials, what I did have was pretty darn good!
I had the General Chicken (their version of General Tso that was not spicy at all, but had some tang and a little bit of sweet, which was what I was looking for) w/lo mein noodles (I like that they let you sub instead of rice, a lot of places I have been to will not), a side order of crab rangoons, and hot and sour soup.
The chicken was good, the lo mein noodles as well, but the crab rangoons were a little lacking (sorry to say, I have had better). I did not care for the egg roll that came w/my meal, but then I am super picky about my egg rolls. The rest of the members, especially the kiddos, seemed to love them.
The standout to me here was the hot and sour soup! I am very picky about my hot & sour and this one was superb! Fantastic ingredients, just enough spicy heat to clear the sinuses and a wonderful array of mushrooms! Honestly, I could have had just the soup and noodles and been happily satiated.
As a family of 6 we still had 3 boxes of leftovers to take home in the end, so needless to say, the portions here are pretty huge!
The seating area is pretty small and there are more booths than tables, but thankfully there wasn't a lot of people there, so we were able to combine 3 of the 2 seater tables to...
Read moreI stopped by on Christmas Day (12-25-21) for the 1st time after not cooking but also not wanting to starve. Never again!
I waited in line 30 mins before ever being acknowledged. Once I was acknowledged, it took about 12 more minutes before my order was taken. What I didn't know was that there were technically 2 lines, 1 for online orders & 1 for walk-ins. It didn't take long to figure out that the only people getting food were those who placed an online order, & they had to wait, too.
I ordered the shrimp egg foo young, a spring roll, & egg drop soup. I did look at the online menu; egg foo young wasn't listed. I tend to judge Chinese restaurants by that item. That being said, it wasn't nasty, but the gravy was a little thin for my liking. The soup was lacking flavor. I've had plenty of good egg drop soup that didn't taste "blah."
While waiting with me, a gentleman told me about their other location which was closed at that time. The next time I'm in the mood for Chinese, I may give them a try. However, based on what I experienced, I'm in no hurry to do anything associated with this restaurant again to be let down. (Had an issue w/Google Maps which is why this review is just now...
Read moreJust grabbed some lunch specials - portion was good, flavor was slightly bland, but ok, price was decent....but the hair. When I opened the bag, there was a hair or two visible on top of the styrofoam box. Static cling happens, I realize, gave them the benefit of the doubt and looked over the inside of the box carefully, didn’t see anything else, and started eating. The deeper I get into the food, I start finding more hairs. And more hairs. I couldn’t finish it, honestly. I’m not a germaphobe, and if it was just one random hair, I’d likely pull it out and still finish the food. But...when you just keep finding them...I couldn’t finish it, and ended up throwing out the unfinished food. My kids’ box of food was the same. Sorry, but we...
