I don't usually leave reviews, in fact this is my first 1 star review. I consider my self a regular customer here since I come here 2-3 times a month and usually the experience is fine but after this incident I will not be back! I came here with 2 of my brothers they both got the all you can eat option but I only ordered 1 sushi (dynamite), I wasn't very hungry. The server Mina (I'm not actually sure about the name my receipt said that was the name of the server.. but she had a Mushroom top haircut) took our order. I already felt like something was off because we all sensed a bit of attitude from her. The food was brought by a different server, she brought a plate with three sushi's and said one of them is dynamite. I was the only one who order the dynamite so i figured they must of put it on the wrong plate, so the server offered to bring me another plate so I could just relocate the sushi on to it, it was ok with me. Than our main server comes back (Mina) and accuses my of stealing the sushi, meaning that I'll have to pay for the all you can eat (which is $20 only $7 more than what i payed for my sushi ). I explained to Mina what happened but I guess she didn't understand me or believe me and said I'll still have to pay $20. In fact she literally argued with another server who sided with me, like right in front of us which is very unprofessional. So we finally got a manager involved (she was a young woman) who was nice but still wanted to charge me $20 (I ordered a $13 sushi so they decided it was OK to take things this far just to save $7). So at this point I was Angry and wanted to get of out place asap, I agreed to pay the $20 just so I could get out! That's when the another Higher up manager stopped me in my tracks and said that I don't have to pay $20. He seemed to be the only one who knows how to run a business, and I hope he is smart enough to fire Mina (lady with a mushroom top). I don't care about some $7 if I did i wouldn't come eat here and go to McDonald!!! But what I do care about is walking away satisfied and happy which is absolutely the opposite of what happened. How can some server do something like this!!! YOU ARE A SERVER!!! YOU JUST BRING PLATES AROUND!!! THAT IS YOU'RE JOB!!! I WILL...
Read moreHad the worst experience at this location. Placed an order online and after getting home realized we were missing a sushi role. After extensively reviewing the menu, it was noted nowhere that the hibachi rice contained egg and was not an option to remove when ordering, so we mentioned this when notifying the restaurant about our missing sushi role due to an egg allergy. I spoke with Erin on of the three managers who repeatedly told us that she was not going to do anything about the egg because it was not their fault. At no time did we ask for a refund just a remake of the order without egg. We had to drive back to the restaurant (30 min. One way) to explain to her the situation. Erin repeatedly treated us poorly and became very disrespectful insinuating that we wanted we a refund when all we asked for was a remake. She told us it was company policy that we had to repay for the remake. I asked her if that was the same policy when dining in and she said no it would be different circumstances. I asked her would it have been different if we didn’t notice the egg and ended up in the hospital? She had no response only that it was policy. I asked for a corporate number. She stated that she was third in command and no one else we could speak with. I told her if she was third then there were two people above her and requested their information. Literally one of the owners was right there. I explained the situation and he told her to give us the remake as WE WERE NOT REQUESTING A REFUND. When leaving she continued to say it was policy despite having her manager there and present to ask for an exception when someone’s life could have been at risk. It was clear that Erin was taking pleasure in denying us service. This was unacceptable and my hope is that MR. Tokyo takes time to properly train especially their managers in food based allergies and the risk that it could open their business up to. The right thing to do was just remake the meal or simply ask her manager what to do but she took too much pride in enforcing policy over the well being of...
Read more“Affordable sushi, good service and plenty of options but read the fine print”. I’ve visited Mr Tokyo on numerous occasions, most recently it was me plus four in our group. The waitress was great the food was quick and to order. I love the bountiful options on the all you can eat menu ($19.99 per adult and $10.99 for 10 yo and under). You can get everything from nigiri to seaweed salad.
Two things to watch out for are:
Leftovers are not acceptable and they charge you heavily if you have leftovers. No “doggie bags” here. I’m not sure if you can place another order for more food until your most recent order is finished.
The little nuances they charge you for that’s not clear. Sashimi, for example, is more heavily restricted and if you go over whatever the limit is they charge you by piece. I ended up with a hefty bill from this mistake.
Good place, local to my house and really no complaints.
Updated 25 Aug 22 Service on my past visit was less than stellar. I arrived at 9:25 and waited at the hostess station as directed by the sign hanging on the podium by the front door. As I waited, I looked around and the restaurant looked disheveled and not very clean. During my past couple of visits I experienced the same. It wasn't dirty from never being cleaned just a look of chaos from being busy. After about 30 seconds of waiting I was approached by a lady who asked if we were there for take out. I said "no I wanted to sit down and eat". Based on the look on her face, this was not what she wanted to hear. She was pretty snarky and uninterested in me wanting to eat there. She told me the seating room closed at 9:15 even though the door said they closed at 10. I asked about that and she got puffy and said "the dining room closes at 9:15 and to-go orders stop at 9:45" and pretty much walked off.
However, everyone else that asked if I needed help while I was waiting for my family to come out of the restroom...
