MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes — Restaurant in Matthews

Came here on Valentines Day with my husband around noon. We walked and were greeted warmly by the cashier. The place was clean and there was only a group of women in the dining room. We placed our order for two burger meals and two chocolate chip cookies. The tops didn’t fit the cups (another customer came in afterwards and struggled getting his top on until I told him they just don’t fit). The dining room was clean however all of the booth seats were torn and they all had duck tape as their fix. When our food was brought out the fries were hot and good but the burgers not the best. The patty itself didn’t have flavor at all; they tasted like just plain beef and looked like they just had been smooshed to be cooked quickly. The buns were toasted but so cold in the middle like they were frozen! Every bite from the bottom bun was ice cold. I attempted to bring this to two employees attention. The first attempt was with the cashier but she had several customers walk in as I was speaking with her and I didn’t want to 1. Make other customers aware to the problems and 2. Hold up the customers from placing their orders. I told her I’d wait for her while she finished but it was a lunch rush so I went back to our table after standing there a few minutes. My second attempt was with one of the other employees when they came out to deliver food and I stopped him to ask if he was the manager. He informed me he wasn’t so I just let him know about our experience with the food and he stated “oh ok. I’ll let them know. “ my husband and I sat there for another 25 minutes or so thinking someone would come over and no one ever came to speak with us. No one offered to remake the food or offered to make it right. The chocolate chip cookies were so hard and not fresh; they tasted like they had been there for at least a few days. Mooyah's Last Hoorah! We are done with them. This was one of our favorite burger spots for a while but their downward spiral has not stopped. Came back to give them a second chance after complaining to the manager about the dismal quality of their food several months ago. They were obviously struggling with lack of staff at that time and he offered to make it right. No staffing issues tonight, 7 people behind the counter but the food was still horrid. No where near closing time and the place was near empty on a friday night while the rest of the shopping center was busy as normal (that should have been our sign) the place next door was packed. We ordered and waited on our food, then drove the literal 1.2 miles home to find it was cold. The big issue is that no one cares about the quality of the food coming out of this place. For the cost of their burgers we should be getting better quality than this. Almost no bacon, grilled onions or steak sauce on my "not so" A Wonderful Burger, the avocado my girl paid extra for was half rotten and then came the fries! We normally order the family size because the 3 of us get plenty but this time they came in 3 small boxes that didn't even contain what you would get in a normal order. On top of that after picking through them we came up with almost a full order of rotten potatoes! Not just dark on the top but black all the way through. $44 worth of food a 1/3rd of it rotten, I can't believe none of the Zombies behind the counter caught any of this. Management keeps making policies that are absolutely STUPID! I’ve been coming to Mooyah since 2018 and now I don’t think I will be back. Now guests have to pay for side sauces if they get more than two per order??? So, basically if we have three orders on one ticket, only two of us can have a free sauce. How does that make sense???

The employees were fine. They are just doing their job.

Management, if you want to play this game, then I guess we will separate every single order so we can get the sauces we expect to have.

Also, the pricing for the side salad and avocado slices (for what you actually get) is completely ridiculous. We just bring our own slices and small bag of lettuce with us. Also, when we order a shareable fri, we don’t get 2x of what a personal fri receives. Though we pay a bit more, it’s just better to get separate orders for fries.
