Extremely disappointed in our experience today and the complete unprofessional nature of the waitress, who we were informed was named Michelle.
She was consistently rude and dismissive from the moment we arrived. She was curt when taking our drink orders and appeared far more interested in flirting with male patrons than providing attentive service. It took so long for her to come take our food order that we had to request it to-go due to time constraints. When we told her this, she became visibly hostile and uncooperative.
One member of our group has a gluten allergy and politely requested her meal without a bun, with pickles on the side. The server refused to accommodate the pickle request separately and stated everything would be “on the side with no bun.” We were then later told by the cook that the server repeatedly instructed the kitchen to include a bun—after being explicitly told it was for an allergy. Her level of negligence/maliciousness was not just unprofessional, it’s dangerous.
Additionally, the onion rings for all our orders were severely burnt. Both the cook and cashier acknowledged this and offered us a refund on our next visit— it was implied that the server was the one who made the onion rings.
We also witnessed completed orders sitting on the counter and getting cold while the same server continued to talk at the bar instead of attending tables, so we were not the only ones affected.
Overall, this was one of the most frustrating dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. Between the rude service, neglect of dietary needs, poor food quality, and lack of urgency or professionalism, we will not be returning unless we have confirmation she is not working/no longer employed. The only reason I have given 2 stars is because the cashier and cook were very professional and empathetic to...
Read moreMy husband and I visited historic Maysville, KY, and stopped here for a late lunch before heading home.
Nothing better than an old-fashioned diner experience when looking for a casual family place.
The food was good. I had a basic cheeseburger and fries with a chocolate milkshake. The milkshake was perfect, a lot of ice cream with just enough milk to loosen it up. The fries were great, and cheeseburger was tasty. The problem was that the waitress allowed them to sit on the counter for quite a while before serving; and the food was not as hot as it should have been. My husband had 2 coney island dogs and macaroni bites. It was good, but the chili had an odd flavor, kind of sweet, and didn't seem to work. The macaroni bites were hot and moist inside and crispy on the outside. He enjoyed the flavor of his hot chocolate, but felt it should have been served in a mug for the proper experience.
All in all, a good stop with good food, but the service was a...
Read moreThis is a cute little restaurant, and unique for downtown Maysville. In addition to trying their food several times, I have recently tried their pizza which is AMAZING. So...why am I only giving it 3 stars? Because before my professional career, I managed restaurants, I take proper food handling very seriously. The amount of negligence I saw while dining in made me scared for their guests. The line cooks do wear gloves, I will give them that. However, they never, ever change them. They go from handling raw meat to squeezing feta cheese to making salads to wiping them on their apron back to cooking and assembling burgers all without changing their gloves. I saw them using the same utensils for raw and cooked foods..it was quite disturbing. I hope that they take this review and consider it constructive criticism, and send their employees through food safety classes such...
