This review is strictly on the dine-in restaurant. Not the fish market. So I have passed this place and heard from neighbors how amazing this place is at least two or three dozen times. I finally took the plunge and went with a friend.

We ordered lobster bisque soup - utterly incredible. Creamy with pieces of actual lobster in it, not like most places that toss some fake crab or shrimp or something cheap in there and pass it off as lobster. We also ordered a 1/2 dozen oysters (blue point) which came out SO absurdly fresh. They were the best I've ever tasted. We also ordered a cold antipasto that had shrimp and calamari over a mixed green salad of spinach and arugula with a wonderfully tasting homemade vinaigrette.

She ordered the chilean sea bass that was crusted and had a thai chile sauce on the side. The fish was flaky, tender and juicy, the exact way a nice piece of white fish should be. Absolutely not fish smell whatsoever. The sauce came on the sauce and my friend literally wanted to drink it, it was so good.

I ordered the appetizer for 2 (hot antipasto) as my meal. It came with fried calamari (literally the best I've ever had - no contest)crab stuffed shrimp, crab stuffed mushrooms, stuffed clams and an item wrapped in bacon (I'm writing this review the next day so I can't for the life of me remember what it was).

Needless to say, EVERY SINGLE ITEM WAS INCREDIBLE. This is easily my new favorite place and I will be dining here quite often. I refuse to go anywhere else for...

I’ve been a steady customer on weekends for over ten years now..miss some here and there but a regular customer spending $50-$100. I believe you take care of people you know/regular customers/. This past Saturday 12/21/2024 I went in to get my usual stuff. I asked about catering for Christmas which I was told they cannot accept anymore orders. So I asked what about Monday night or Tuesday? They told me I can come Monday night and that they would cook anything I want. I left my job at 4pm and it took me a hr to arrive with traffic etc due to Christmas. When I finally arrived I see a sign that kitchen, menu is closed from 12-21 to 12-27. Not only did I say to myself wtf but Alison the lady behind me. She was also told to come on Monday and they will cook anything you want. Trays etc. This is uncalled for and not acceptable being a long time customer. All you had to do was be honest instead of running in back once you saw me. Also being disconnected a few times on phone trying to place order. Very frustrating, disappointed and not professional! Also I take care of my mom and she was looking forward to the food. I also had to pay the nurse an extra $60 to watch her until I got home. Also order food from somewhere else which was disgusting. Another $120. I will be taking my business elsewhere!...

MY NEW favorite place walk into what looks like a FISH MARKET everything is displayed beautifully & all fresh looking .. We asked to be seated or to take something delicious to go .. We sat in the back only about 15 tables tight in there but the food is SO FRESH I was so impressed with my dish of blackened swordfish with sautéed spinach & a small amount of veggies : I think it was a little skimpy on both side dishes honestly but whatever it was tasty. My lunch date got fried flounder which was two big pieces and coleslaw & the waitress was not the friendliest ..but she did have a bunch of tables by herself. I paid with my credit card & we left a generous tip anyway regardless of her non friendly personality m.Then I realized I didn’t have my CC with me so now I have another excuse to go there because WE called up and they have my CC in safe keeping for me .., thank goodness so I’ll be eating there Tomorow again lol .. I did take a halibut dinner to go for my husband he really enjoyed his meal highly recommend this hidden gem .. yum ! Only complaint is the bathroom was dirty and smelled gross so maybe an air freshener & a little love in there like a nice picture or something to brighten up the room would help...

Was in the area and was highly recommend. It was dinner time to I decided to do a takeout order. I called ahead for a lobster roll that would be ready in 10 minutes, it really only took 5. It came warm so I was really excited. Would recommend paying cash as they do charge the 3% credit card fee which wasn't disclosed when I asked if cash or credit was better but it wasn't a big deal. It ended up being $30. Getting into the sandwich, the bread was buttery and toasted with huge chunks of lobster stuffed in it. I should have mentioned that I would have preferred Maine style (butter) vs. Connecticut style (mayo) but honestly the Connecticut style was not bad at all and I'm usually not a huge mayo person. It wasn't drowning in the mayo or too overwhelming and the finely chopped celery added a nice subtle crunch, again not too overpowering. Totally worth the money in my opinion. I would definitely come back here to try the other items on the menu or even to pick up some fresh fish for cooking. They have seating in the back for the casual restaurant part.

Small fresh fish market and restaurant tucked away in the heart of downtown Maywood across the street from the Pancake House. Really huge shrimp plus they carry all the most popular premium species of seafood. Their scrod is reasonably priced and delicious. Table seating is available in the totally separate restaurant located at the rear of the store. Prices are a bit premium, but then you get a bit higher grade of seafood. Tonight I had the Lobster bisque soup (best in a long time and actual lumps of lobster) and the Red Snapper & shrimp w/rice special. It came in a real light, but flavorful red sauce w/capers. Nice portion and it was excellent. It was Friday night and a full house. No tables open so they sqeezed me in to the only table in the store area. Good service. On street parking plus the municipal lot a short walk down and around the corner. Oh, forgot to mention. It's a BYOB restaurant. Suggest you make reservations, especially on Fridays..
