Tasty King — Restaurant in Maywood

I've been going to this place for years and I always order the same thing. The food is alright, and the portions are standard. The customer service is terrible. I ordered the two-item combo, the woman over the counter asked what I wanted, and I told her and turned the corner to check if they had egg rolls and I also got a side of them too. I didn’t watch her scoop up the food. She was also rushing me through the order even though I was the only one there. I thought “well it’s fast food,” so I didn’t say anything.

She gave me my total, I paid and left. Once in my car, I opened the container and saw an empty spot where my broccoli was supposed to be I went back to let her know I was missing an item. She got defensive really fast and denied hearing that it was a 2-item combo. I opened the container and showed her it was missing and again she yelled that I only ordered a “B” combo and not a “C” combo. She then said it would be $1 to upgrade.

I understand that mistakes happen but I’m not going to get yelled at for $1 worth of broccoli. I paid cash, and they didn’t provide a receipt so who knows what she punched into the register. I never complain to restaurants, and I usually let stuff like that go. But they really handled the whole thing badly. I never raised my voice at her, I was polite and was actually embarrassed that I even went back. She literally had no reason to go off on me like that. If your debit card gets declined and then you use a credit card and it actually goes through.. just know you’re gonna get your information stolen.. this is the only place I had used my credit card and later on I get fraudulent charges. I was forced to use it because my debit got declined even though I had funds. Same thing happened to another customer another time I went back. That’s when I put it together. Smh. Adding new photo of their updated party trays.. Still Chowmein is the best... The shrimp fried rice goes very well with the chowmein. The teriyaki chicken is amazing. Chicken is tender & the seasoning on the skin is really tasteful. Party plates are reasonable... I've ordered the chowmein party tray without the veggies. Guest really enjoyed it without it.
