I love this place. It’s very close to where I work and I love spending my free time there reading and being at the cafe. I always bring my little dog since he’s been depressed about my father leaving for long periods of time due to work. So I always make sure to call ahead and ask that I can bring him and He’s been welcomed every time since he’s quiet and never makes a fuss. As long as he does not approach the cafe, he’s always been welcomed. (Half of the time he’s just asleep on my lap while I’m on the floor reading) Earlier I went again to find a book for my little sister and this little chick came and made a scene demanding we get out immediately. She could have pulled us aside and quietly told us. (I assume she’s new since I always bring my dog to pet friendly stores. Barnes and Noble being my favorite) Instead of respectfully pulling us aside and explaining why she felt the need to kick us out, she demanded we left with nothing else to say. Just saying “GET OUT NOW” This Barnes and Noble was one of my favorites but she was just rude as hell and I hope she learns better way of addressing situations she doesn’t know about cause that’s sure as hell not...
Read moreI've never had an issue til today. As I'm waiting in line for the cashier's to charge. A group of teens were right next to me and spitting every where. Logically, I know I'm the adult and moved away. So, I moved forward, as I did, the teens moved next to me. I moved again, I kindly asked the cashier I'm moving here ma'am and will wait til your ready to charge me. The lady that had been paying before me said yeah, they are to close, like literally too close. I've never had anyone close to me like touching close. I was like why they needing to be touching me, ??? Again, as I moved they did it again. I'm sorry but the store should have a sign and have people still use 6 feet distance. Or 3 for the most part. It's the stores duty to make sure that all customers feel safe, and not sophiccated just to make a purchase. I did feel quite overwhelmed at having these kids needing to be touching me. Like huh??? What in the heavens?? I've never had that happen, but I felt bad. I didn't purchase the dinosaur for my son, and know now the staff won't do nothing about safety or...
Read moreUsually I really like this Barnes and Noble, but I'm not giving it the full 5 stars. It's still a great place. The store is clean. The bathrooms are clean. It has a relatively decent selection of books. The staff is always helpful.
However, things aren't as great as they used to be. 1) it's hotter in there than it used to be. 2) after ordering a coffee from the Starbucks, it took 20 min to get it, though it wasn't that busy. 3) their manga selection has slashed in half for POP vinyl figures, which is beyond annoying that a book store removed books for toys. 4) 1/4 of their books now seem to be compendiums (e.g., "Ancient Religions," "Viking War Ships," "Native American Mythologies") that give a cursory description on items without much substance. 5) most of what they carry is the most popular of books because they've culled their selection.
That said, it's still nice to have a clean book store with coffee shop, things to look at, and...
