New owner was very disrespectful, did not honor $50 gift card that was not expired because we purchased it from previous owner, said "why would I give you free bread if you gave money to the previous owner?" A new owner who buys a business buys previous customers and their orders as well. Wouldn't even look us in the eye, left to the back and wouldn't come back out to respond to us, even after the cashier went back multiple times to check for us if she would come out. You know you're doing something wrong as an owner if you aren't willing to look your (ex)customer in the eye. Not to mention, bread quality and freshness has gone way down since new owner took over. First time ordering through Doordash. I wanted a dessert bread from the photo listed. I received another loaf of bread. I contacted Breadsmith directly and he told me I should have written in what bread I want, but first timer here, didn't know there were multiple. He said he gave me the most popular bread they have. Why didn't they contact me? Or ask my Doordasher to contact me? What if I had an allergy to the bread you decided to just give me? Everything is so delicious I really love the bread. My wife and I make the 25 minute trip every weekend. We've been a loyal customers since they first opened up. One of our favorite pastries are the almond chocolate chip bread sticks. We can't help but notice they have changed. I don't know if its because of the a new baker or management.
