Their curbside service sign asks you to text a number with your name and the spot number upon arrival. I received a notification my take-out was ready before I sent the text. 10 minutes later, in an empty parking lot, my food still hadn’t been brought to me. When I tried to call, nobody picked up. Finally, I went inside and waited about 5 minutes before anyone came to attend me. There were 2 tables that had customers and the person that eventually came to help me was talking with some co-workers. No motion that she was coming to help or indication of a moment more.
I purchased 3 kids meals and my own meal. The menu that I’ve ordered from multiple times states that the yakisoba kids meal includes fried rice and a drink. When I got to pick up at the location there were only 2 drinks ready and they argued with me over the 3rd drink so much that I had to show them what I ordered. I brought everything to the car and then discovered 3 of the fried rices missing.
I called and spoke with one person that told me the kids meals I ordered no longer included the rice and passed me over to another girl. She had such a bright smiling tone it was almost comical - it continued through the conversation. In a very scripted and non-caring manner she advised me that the particular kids meal I ordered “NO LONGER” included the fried rice. No apology for the confusion either. I advised that I paid for the fried rice as it’s how I’ve ordered it for years and that’s how it’s shown on the app. After a long pause she stated the only thing she could do was give me an adult steamed rice. I said really? She said yes I can give you some steamed rice. Ridiculous and petty! We went there so very often. It’s how it’s been on the dine-in menu for years.
So the first girl brought out my steamed rice. Again - no apology just “here is your steamed rice.” Very unprofessional and no courtesy at all.
I got home and there was maybe a small tong grab of noodles (at most) for the kids noodles with a few half frozen pieces of broccoli. The coke was very low on syrup and was even light in color. Flavorless with tons of carbonation. For $4.99, I would have been better off at fast-food Japanese or maybe a cup of ramen noodles which would have been more filling. If I can upload pics, I will or would be glad to send them.
Will no longer go there and will spread the word on their very horrible customer service, degrading quality and poor customer service. Lost a...
Read moreAfter a year of not coming to this location after a bad experience (Prefer the Kumori at N Trenton) We decided to give this place another try after hearing Kumori is experimenting with the all you can eat menu.
Miso soup: Room temperature. I prefer my Miso HOT
Drinks: We got our first round of food and still didn’t receive our sake. We had to remind staff.
Appetizers: Very small portions, perfect for a petite person like me who wants to try a little bit of everything. Our server worked with us well in accommodating our requests.
Sashimi: 3-10 Tuna was flavorless/obviously frozen. Salmon was good, but better off having the New style sashimi (my personal favorite that I main on) yellowtail was pretty good. Probably one of the best grades compared to the rest of the fishes. Octopus, was very tender, cooked well, BUT had a weird fishy after taste, this was most of the fish.
Nigiri: 4-10 Because of the fish grade the rating is low. I’d say my personal favorite are all 3 options of the fish eggs. There nice and firm, flavorful and taste fresh. The Eel has always been good at all locations of Kumori’s. The fly fish egg was honestly a very weird flavor. I love fish eggs of different species, this one was off…
Rolls: 7-10 The rolls tasted fantastic. Only thing is that they did put a lot of rice in the rolls. Compared to other locations the inside has a lot got he internal ingredients, where’s here it’s less and more rice. I’ve always loved Kumori’s rolls, if you can handle the carbs this is for you.
Overall our server was AMAZING. Don’t blame the quality of food on them, blame the system. I hope Kumori steps up on their food quality. As a fresh food connoisseur, I’ll probably not come here again and spend a few bucks...
Read moreThe food was great, but the service was really bad at this location. Although we got seated quickly, which is common for a party of 2, our food took 50 minutes to be taken over to our table. Not to mention we were seated right by the chefs and had noticed our plates ready for a good 10 minutes on the counter. I looked for our server by the name of Laura, since she had not approached our table in a while and saw her over by the drink machine on her cell phone. I got up and went towards her to ask her how much longer it would take for our food to come out because it had already been 45 minutes. She replied, “Oh, let me check” and then I saw her go and get the plates that had been sitting for a while on the counter and bring them to our table. She did not even bother to apologize or ask if we needed anything. She just placed the plates on our table and walked away. After a very long time she brought us a coke and placed it on our table without saying anything and shortly after brought us our receipt to the table and again placed it without saying a word to us. Never had I had this type of service at a Kumori location. I could not stay to complain in person, but I did call and speak to a supervisor by the name of Kassandra. I told her my experience and all she said was that she was sorry for our experience that she hoped to see us again and that she would talk to our server so that it would not...
