IHOP — Restaurant in McAllen

Wow, wow and wow to my favorite I-Hop Restaurant located at address 4321 N.10th St. McAllen,TX. 78504. I stopped by on the early Tuesday morning around 2:45am with a nice and delicious meal as I usually do in the early am since I work my job and workout at the gym afterwards of each of my shifts! This usually works up my appetite for breakfast or a light meal at my favorite place on earth at I-Hop! Anyways I picked this morning to order a burger and fries since I had only eaten one time early on Monday and was just some buffalo wings from the grocery store. So eventually my A1C blood sugar level dropped critically while I was waiting on an Lyft ride share to pick me up at the Denny’s just west of my side of town so that I can come eat at my favorite restaurant I-Hop where I was warmly and friendly greeted by the best little morning crew probably ever assembled in the history of I-Hop history! I was greeted by a young lady named Sayanne Rodriguez and the manager Kevin De La Sancha who were both so welcoming and pretty but sweet and very thankful for my visit and service! Which you really don’t get to experience in restaurants or the fast food industries now a day’s here the Valley otherwise known as the (956) area where folks are known for being extremely rude and disrespectfully impatient! Oh no this small crew were very friendly,professional and very knowledgeable of there brand and positions! I was very impressed with this young ladies knowledge of the menu and her ability to refer e to the best burger and fries that I’ve eaten in the last 10 year’s of my life! Kevin the manager is talented beyond his means and his knowledge because prepared my burger in record breaking time due to me being exhausted ,drained and starving after my Pre-Diabetes low blood sugar attack in which the management had to call 911 to come and check on me at a quarter to 2am before the night clubs. across the street from their establishment closed and let the usual intoxicated and impaired parties of people most frequently come in and get sick and cause them problems’ They remember me as a regular customer from back in the day until I discovered that I-Hop was much,much better and superior to Denny’s! However McAllen P.D my favorite and fellow Law Enforcement group supreme and everyone at the restaurant by responding with two of McAllen’s finest P.D in Blue showed up and and showed out so positively with concerned and respectfully realizing and recognizing that I’m an Veteran’s child of the Vietnam Nam War Hero! They responded in the best way possible by awakening me up by simply saying hello ma’am are you okay Mrs? I immediately opened my eyes and said oh yes, it’s just my A1C that dropped because I’m Pre-Diabetic and I’m also am Hypoglycemic which is when your blood auger )A1C drops often and is a really dangerous! So people what I’m really trying to say to you is please have respect for your neighborhood and community restaurants as you patronize them and have much respect for them and your local and state Law Enforcement when you interact with them because they are all so important and special to us because they really do serve and protect the community! Please do visit this I-Hop restaurant because it’s an experience that you have to come out and witness! You will never forget this type of customer service nor will you ever experience such delicious,delightful and excellent service as this young Lady Sayanna and Manager Kevin are a dynamic duo of a small team servicing McAllen’s Finest McAllen P..D and the whole McAllen Community and South Texas (956) Area also known the Rio Grand City or the Rio Grand Valley!So please Come on over and try some very nice delicious breakfast , lunch or dinner and witness what I did this morning! Posted one star review to be able to comment but I give 0 stars honestly. Greeter at the door was so nice, no problem there, but waitress seemed to be in a hurry to do everything. Basically forced us to order right away, and kept looking at our table (and not to make sure we were okay, just to see if we were almost done). Asked her for some iced coffee like I always order, and she was bothered by the fact that I asked her for something "they don't have in the menu". Halfway through our meal, she kept grabbing stuff from the table when we were obviously still using it. And when asked for cream and sugar for regular coffee she only brough enough for one and no two cups of coffee like we ordered. Told her it wasn't enough and she just told us to share. Again she kept asking us if we needed anything else but just because she wanted for us to be done already. (Mind you, we were not rude to her in any way nor did we keep asking for things, she was just behaving like that since the beginning) We had just started our meal and she left the check for when we "were ready", paid right away so she would let us eat in peace honestly. And when she came back, she wouldn't leave, she just kept grabbing the receipt and putting it closer and closer to the middle of the table so that we could see that she had circled with her pen "no tip included" at the bottom. Honestly just left her a tip so that she could leave us alone. Still not done with our meal and she kept insisting on taking everything away from us when we were obviously still not done. Very unpleasant experince, would not recommend that you go there if you want to spend some quality time with your family. Very small establishment compared to other IHOP restaurants, not same menu items as other locations either. Table was still dirty when we were seated. Unfortunately I do not have name of waitress but she has both arms covered in tattoos, very thin physique, and dark black...

Despite having a bad experience with the wait staff the last time we went, we decides to give it another try. Again, the server was rather rude and seemed disinterested in being there. The employees yell inappropriate conversations with the kitchen staff within earshot of all the customers.

The burgers we got were ok, despite having to remind the server that I requested onion rings, not fries. He took my plate back to the kitchen counter, but almost immediately returned the plate to me and said my rings would be out shortly.

As my wife was about halfway done with her burger, and the friend we invited was finishing her pancakes, a German Cockroach with an egg sack on it crawled up from below our table, up to the window sill. Our server was walking up with a refill so I pointed it out to him and he just walked away. Our friend killed it herself, but my wife was too disgusted to continue eating. He said he would tell the manager, but did nothing else. At that time, we noticed the window sills looked dirty. As we waited for our checks, a smaller cockroach walked across the window, so I smashed that one as well. The napkin I used also became dirty with whatever was all over the window and sill, definitely not clean.

Our friend asked for the manager. They did comp my wife's plate, and eventually our friend's also. They gave us the excuse that they just fumigated(fogged) the restaurant, so it happens. The manager also promised that the restaurant is very clean, so I showed him all the residue on my napkin. While we appreciate the comp'ing of most of the meal, the lack of responsibility for the matter left me feelinf nauseous. They seemed to believe that this is perfectly normal and acceptable. 2 roaches...
