Morado's Restaurant — Restaurant in McAllen

We arrived a little after 12 the place was busy (understandable) + it was very loud. We are a total of 7 guest but arrive separately. The first three are greeted with menus + asked what we wanted to drink. We place our beverage order + our waitress leaves + returns. By that time the other 7 have arrived. Our waitress starts with (1st 3 guest) our food orders. She never acknowledges the other four therefore someone ask if she could take their beverage order so she does. They inquire about the daily special which she is unaware of + leaves to retrieve it but takes extremely long. By this time only have of the guest have ordered + approximately 20+ mins have passed. She finally returns takes the other orders. After 47 mins some begin to recieve their orders but a bit incorrect. She handed someone beans + snatched them from under her nose when realized she didnt order tacos. Rather than saying "excuse me" nope cut between two people + grabbed them. When this is brought to her attention she was quick to blame the "new cook" + stated she knew the order was wrong, takes it back. The caldo de res was really caldo de hueso. Everyone decided to take their food to go + ask for to go plates, makes an unpleasant facial expression + says " I know, I know" but there were people here before you all. YIKES! At the end some were overcharged, wrongly charged, others were gives THREE pieces of meat on a taco, some did not receive tortillas with their order. At the EVERYONE kept putting the blame on the cook who was not there to defend themselves + looked like she was moving as fast as she could. The cashier required assistance + still managed to screw up but didn't forget to add the tip! She continously suggested we call ahead of time on the next visit...

First and last time going in this place. To begin this I must say that where ever you go out to eat it's first come first serve. The lesson it's free. My girlfriend and I came to this place and as the seat us I began to notice that quite a bit of time passed and they began to serve people they seemed to know first, people whom actually arrived way after we did. Second they brought in the the orders but we had requested a dessert first. Well they brought in my girlfriends order then the chips and salsa, after nearly 10 Mins later my order and the dessert... on top of that my order was cold. When I requested to get it changed. They sent me the same plate. But warm... then aside from that. When I asked for the bill I noticed the price was over exaggerated. $37.65 for a plate worth nearly 10 , a taco worth $2.99 a dessert possibly 3.50 (a flan) a sweet tea and lemonade. Where exactly do 37. Dollars come out from. When I paid. I saw that the prices had been exaggerated. I asked but no response was made. I was in a rush to leave. So I just paid my bill and walked out. Worst place ever. Ps the food really was not that great didn't even finished my plate. And service was cheap. Taco bell gives...

Although the waitresses were friendly, the service was terrible took way too long to take our order with only two other small parties and 1 larger one in the restaurant, the floors were filthy, they’d only ‘clean’ the table after someone would leave. And by filthy I mean pieces of the straw wrappers, food both fallen and stepped on under nearly all tables, felt sticky when I had to walk across the restaurant to go to the bathroom which were also dirty. We had a table behind us that had a dirty plate, salsa bowls and an empty water bottle the entire time we were there that was never picked up, the food was warm at best even though it took forever to get. The fajita tacos my company ordered, had a single piece of meat… n the one w the most pieces were 3 which was mostly fat. I have no idea how they got so many rewards in the past and why they'd keep them up on the walls if they aren’t taking care of the place. I have never left a bad review for a place but I had to after this experience. I hope they improve the place although I don’t plan on coming back. The flour tortillas was the only thing I kind of enjoyed. I left...
