My wife has ordered cakes from this place for a few years (which in my honest opinion 20$ cakes from heb tastes way better). Never had an issue until today. The most upsetting part of today's experience was the owners actions when my wife had to take the cake to get it fixed since it had a crack that resulted into one side of the cake breaking off. (Unfortunately wife sis not take a pic)My wife was very cautious and careful handling the cake, she was upset when she saw what happened to the cake and called to the store upset (because the party was starting and she had to take almost an hour to take cake back to get it fixed,, then come back to a 2hr party we payed for at main event which she was only going to be at for hour). The staff over the phone and at location were nice about handling the situation, when the owner was giving my wife the cake that they fixed my wife simply said "its not going to break again right?" To which the owner went off on my wife. He started blaming my wife for what happened, said that he didn't have to fix it in the first place. Then he said if you don't like the cake leave it her and ill give you a refund (all with an ugly attitude)......fully knowing that it wasn't an option as party was already going on. I was in disbelief this Valentine's Day when my mother in law brought home a sugar free cake from Sweet and Tasty's this is usually where we get our cakes due to diabetes in the family.. well I'm sad to say but I was one of the last person to get a piece of cake but when cutting my piece I noticed a discoloration at bottom bread part. It appeared green color on a chocolate cake... I was speechless when I turned over my piece of cake to find MOLD, blotches of mold !!! I WAS IN SHOCK!!! I understand if they use special ingredients for the sugar free aspect but they as should know the shelf life on their own products. Well the following day my mother in law took back the cake and sad to say... They gave her a refund and a small bag of free cookies and 50% off day old Valentine's Day strawberries. WOW!!! Poor customer services. I don't feel justice was met. If I had been manager or owner . I would have given refund and would have made a new/ fresh cake to pick up once it was made. However, over the past two years, I've noticed a decline in both the quality and effort put into the cakes. The designs, even simple ones, don’t look as clean or detailed as they used to, and the cakes themselves don’t seem as fresh. The icing has often been rock hard, almost like the cakes have been sitting in a freezer for too long. I understand that prices have gone up and I don’t mind paying more as long as the final product matches the reference photo I provide. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case lately.
