I just had dinner there and it was unfortunately not as good of an experience as I've had on my many previous visits. Our server, Hipolito, was not as attentive as other servers we've had previously. I ordered a papa max which comes with cheese, butter, bacon and fajita and it didn't have any cheese whatsoever and was super dry. He didn't come to ask how our food was until my fiancé was finished eating. When I mentioned to him that my potatoe didn't have any cheese, instead of apologizing and trying to remedy the situation he pointed to the little part that had butter and told me that it did have cheese. That was upsetting, so I asked to instead just send it back and I wouldn't eat since I felt like he was mocking me. He took it back and brought back our ticket and was trying to charge us for my uneaten potatoes claiming that I had eaten half of my potatoe. I had literally only had 2 small bites before noticing that it didn't have any cheese and had been craving a cheesy potatoes since I'm 8 months pregnant. He unfortunately didn't provide good service and accused me of first lying that there was cheese on the potatoes and then that I had...
Read moreFirst let me say my order was to go, so maybe dining in option is better and it was my first time. I'll go back to try it again because I have high hopes for this place and the service was REALLY nice and friendly and fast.
I got the Tacos Texano with bistec (2 of these). The menu online says that this comes with a baked potato and charro beans. I realized when unpacking that we didn't get the baked potatoes, maybe I needed to mention this? The charro beans were delicious BUT we only got 1 spoonful of actual beans. The cup was mostly the juice, which was dissapointing. The meat had flavor but the limes that came with it were very dry (maybe cut in the morning but left sitting?). The tacos had what the menu said but heads up the shredded white cheese (maybe swiss? Was NOT queso fresco if this matters to you).
Also the way they laid out the tacos in the togo box was unhelpful and messy. They basically saved time by laying out the tortillas, then layered everything on that bottom layer so that you have to figure out where each taco starts and ends.
So it was just ok for me but I will try again next time dining in and maybe just...
Read moreWe decided on ordering the family pack which listed on their page is 25.99 for everything included. We placed a phone order and it was ready within 10 minutes which was awesome! Once we arrived the place looked empty almost as if it wasn’t even open. We went to the drive through and signed for the order - immediately we noticed the discrepancy between the price listed and the price charged (we swore we heard 27$ and not 56$ in Spanish) since the food was already made we decided to take the meal and hope it was worth the price. Mayra was very hospitable and seemed to be the only employee between the phone and the front/drive thru. As far as the food goes at most the bistec tacos were the main attraction, and I did enjoy the horchata, everything else was mainly average; potato’s were cheesy but missing salt, beans were hot but lacked flavor, and as far as the “fountain drinks” being canned cokes it comes off a little tacky especially for $60. It’s very much giving El zarape even then I believe their family pack is the exact same but even cheaper. Maybe ideal for a family in a of something...
