I'm being generous with the two stars. I've ordered carry out pizza several times and the cheese pizza is good! Yesterday we dined in for the first time. Extremely disappointing experience. After being seated we waited patiently for our server. A minimum of 20 minutes past at which point I walked up to the front foyer to notify staff that we had not been greeted by our server. The girl was sweet, apologetic and sought out help. I returned to our table and a moment later the blonde haired boy who seated us (host) took our drink order not before asking,"How long did you guys have to wait?" My reply, "at least 20 minutes." He then says, "Ok". The same guy delivered our drinks and immediately sat down two booths over with his friends. A few minutes later our server finally showed up smelling like cigarettes and apologized "Oh, I'm so sorry you had to wait. I was unaware I was your server tonight" I'm pretty flexible and understand things happen. All of the staff was very young, high school students in appearance. I ran to the restroom to wash my hands. Don't bother using the tiny restroom with the stalls right next to the sink and the trashcans at the stall door which you have to slide by to get into the actual stall. The hand dryer on the wall no longer worked and I promise it's right out the movie The Breakfast Club. Finally, our food arrived! However, it was no time to rejoice. My patience ran out with Monte Cello. The spaghetti with meatballs lacked in every way possible. Tasted like nothing with watered down tomato sauce. The fries had a consistency of 8 hour old heat lamp fries doused with salt in hopes of revival. The garlic bread had zero garlic on it. Literally a hoagie with butter. Lastly, the meatball calzone I ordered to go had one meatball inside with the same watered down tomato sauce. A manager never came to our table to apologize (we did not request a manager but proper restaurant etiquette would be to smooth everything over, make a good caring impression) The service and food was deplorable. Whomever owns this particular location does not value customers, or their establishment. Such a shame. Highly disappointed. DO NOT...
Read moreThe people that gave this 1 star are clearly lying because they are probably the competition. I say this because if you aren't completely satisfied their pleasant and professional GM Anna ALWAYS makes everything right. It is seriously the best pizza in Pittsburgh. Phenomenal prices considering the quality of ingredients. Their daily specials range from a wide variety of classic and modern Italian fare. The staff is what sets this place apart, you will feel like family...expect to be greeted by your name and treated wonderfully. The buffalo chicken pizza is most likely the best buffalo chicken pizza in the world and you will also love it as a stromboli (Which isn't on the menu but they are always glad to make) I love every monte cello's but the wexford location goes a step beyond the rest of them...their cooks are extremely seasoned and always add the right touches. As a result of all of this you can expect to see regulars there every day and people will commonly drive from the city and even further away to catch lunch or dinner. They have an extremely cheap pizza soup and salad buffet that is great because they are constantly putting out fresh hot pizza with different toppings so you don't get bored. Save yourself a cardboard pizza from foxes and make the drive, you...
Read moreHere is my awful story of lies and deceit...Ordered 7 pizzas for son's birthday party at playground world 5 minutes away to be delivered at 5:30pm. Confirmed order at noon. By 5:40 pizzas had not arrived so called - was told by employee it was "on the way". Called back at 5:55 and spoke to another employee that said same thing. I asked him to contact driver to see where his location was. Was put on hold then told he contacted driver and was only "a few minutes away". Would not give an exact location. Still no pizza by 6:20 and called back. Talked to manager this time - was told snowfall had delayed driver. We were 5 minutes up the street and there was no snowfall so called her out on this. Later she finally admitted they hadn't put the pizza in the oven yet - so obviously we had been fed lies all night...instead of pizza. Had to be out of playground world by 7pm so this obviously ruined our evening and the 18 hungry kids there. I usually don't write reviews, but it was the awful lies by both employees and the manager that made me the most irate. At any point they could have actually confirmed the pizzas were not made and prevented this mess. This place lost our business and the business of the 8 families there. Strongly consider another place for...
