All of these restaurants are kind of the same. The food is great and the service is pretty good. You get a lot of variety here. Everything is cooked fresh but there is a very Southern seem to some of their cooking. I don't like grease or fried foods. I usually stick to the steak, ribs, chicken or fish. they have an ice cream machine and a variety of toppings. They have a variety of desserts. It's basically a supersize buffet with culturally diverse foods. You have an Italian section, Asian section, comfort food section and meat section.
It seems to get very crowded in there, not always. I think that would be the only thing that would deter people. There is a ton of variety of people in there when I visit. The waitresses are usually pretty attentive. You get unlimited drink refills. You can eat all you want.
This is not a romantic place to go eat at all. Don't bring your first date here. This is a place you go on your really hungry and you want to eat it all. I would say this is more for a Sunday family lunch. This could also just be good for a...
Read moreGolden Corral has been in McComb for decades, and that's as should be: reasonable food, reasonably priced. Service over the years has gone from good to spotty to horrid, and the last few times we've been there service has been great. We've learned that there are times you really don't want to go there (Sunday after church and Wednesday evening for the same reason) and times you really REALLY don't want to go (Mother's Day and Easter), but on a nondescript Thursday night it's just fine. Until. I'm not a fan of pecan pie, but my daughter had a surprise in hers: a human hair. It was baked into the pie, and not on top - my wife and I watched as she pulled it out of the filling. There used to be rules about food prep - things like, "Hey, wear a fiddle-sticksing hair net!" and things like that. Absent Health Dept rules, it still seems a common courtesy. The rest of the meal was great. There's a lot of jokes that come to mind about eating pie and hair, but you'll have to decide...
Read moreFood was pretty good and absolutely love the choice of music they had playing but the best part of my dining experience was by far our waitress Ally. Ally was extremely great. She was so sweet and friendly and she did an outstanding job of keeping our drinks filled and clearing our used plates out of the way very fast. Ally deserves a raise big time. I'm not talking about the ol yearly everybody gets a raise raise. I mean at least an extra $10 an hour more than everybody else there makes raise. If her boss won't give her a raise then his/her boss needs to fire him/her so they can free up the money to give Ally his/her money. If the whole staff at Golden Corral was as good and hardworking and as sweet and friendly as Ally is and if the food was a little better then I would give it 6 stars instead of 5, But just know of my 5 star rating 4.9989 of those stars was ALLY!!! GIVE ALLY A RAISE!!! GIVE ALLY A RAISE!!! GIVE...
