(in other locations) So we got a booth and sat down. The waitress came to the table to take drink orders. I ordered coffee, wife had juice and the others had either tea or coke. The waitress finally came to the table with our drinks about 15 minutes later. I asked for creamer for my coffee and a spoon to stir. At that time, we placed our meal orders. My wife and I always order the fiesta omelet. Hers with loaded hash browns and I get the grits. One of my friends orders just the hash browns and bacon. Didn't take much notice about what the others were ordering. Too busy in conversation. About 40 minutes later, the food starts showing up. 2 plates for my wife and I arrived first. The first think I noticed was my omelet had over cooked hash browns. I asked if someone else at the table also ordered this. No one else had. My wife's hash browns was correct. I did not order hash browns. I ordered grits. I also mentioned that my coffee was now cold and I wanted a fresh cup and the creamer that I had asked for in the beginning. My wife asked for a refill on her juice. About 10 minus later, the waitress comes back with another 2 plates. I mentioned about the hash browns and wanted my grits. I also asked again for the coffee and creamer. Also inquired about my wife's juice. The waitress said they were out. So my wife asked for a diet coke instead. A few minutes later, the waitress comes back with the 5th plate. There was no bacon. Told the waitress of this and she walked away. I assumed she was going to inform the chef of the missing item. Finally after about 10 minutes and still no bacon, my friend stood up and asked the chef herself about the bacon. The chef's comment was "I aint making no damn bacon". We all heard it. At this point I said its time to go. We got up and paid our tickets and left. Some background.. My wife and I visit waffle house locations 3-4 times a week. We are always traveling. This is by far the worst experience we have ever had at a waffle house or any restaurant for...
Read moreMixed Experience at Waffle House: High Security, Inconsistent Service
I recently visited Waffle House and had a rather mixed experience that left me with conflicting feelings. While I appreciated the heightened security measures, I found the overall service inconsistent and lacking.
First and foremost, I must commend Waffle House for the level of security they provide. It was evident that they take customer safety seriously, as I encountered what seemed like the most security measures I've ever seen in a restaurant. While I understand that being in a potentially rough area warrants such precautions, it did make me feel more at ease.
However, the heightened security seemed to come at a cost. Upon leaving, I was stopped and interrogated about having a receipt. Although I understand the intention behind this measure, it did create an uncomfortable atmosphere, leaving me feeling somewhat unwelcome. Perhaps there could be a more seamless way to address security concerns without making customers feel targeted.
Additionally, the use of paper cups and plastic utensils was disappointing. I understand the need for convenience and hygiene, especially in a high-volume establishment like Waffle House. However, it detracted from the dining experience and gave the impression of a lower-quality service. Exploring more sustainable alternatives or even offering the choice between disposable and reusable options would be a positive step.
Overall, while I acknowledge the challenges of operating in a potentially dangerous area, I believe Waffle House could improve its approach to ensure a more balanced experience for its customers. Enhancing security measures without compromising on hospitality and customer service is a delicate balance to achieve.
I hope that Waffle House takes these feedback points into consideration and continues to work towards creating a safer, more welcoming, and environmentally conscious dining experience for all...
