We stopped in for lunch at Tortilla Soup – Irresistible Mex, and from the moment we pulled into the lot, it was clear this wasn’t your average Mexican restaurant. The colorful, Spanish-style exterior draws you in, and the fun, vibrant energy continues as soon as you walk through the doors.
The interior is a perfect blend of festive and modern — with cascading greenery, custom lighting, earthy wood tones, and statement pieces like the massive driftwood wings and a glowing tequila tower display. It’s visually stunning without being over-the-top, and the atmosphere is both upbeat and welcoming.
What We Ordered: We dined during lunch and each tried something different: • Lunch Mexican Quesadilla: A classic done right — cheesy, grilled to perfection, and served with creamy beans and seasoned rice. • Lunch Steak a la Mexicana: The steak was tender and full of flavor, sautéed with onions and peppers in a savory sauce (possibly tomato or chili-based). While I couldn’t pinpoint the exact seasoning blend, it was bold and delicious, pairing perfectly with the sides. • Taco Plate with Steak: Served with crisp cabbage slaw and a bright, flavorful salsa verde, these tacos offered just the right amount of spice and texture. • Guacamole Salad on the Side: Fresh, vibrant, and a great way to balance the richness of the entrees — a simple highlight.
Drinks & Menu: We didn’t indulge this time, but their bar menu is incredible — offering everything from fun cocktails like the Mermaid or Mangonada to top-shelf margaritas and tequila flights. The overall menu is extensive with something for everyone: seafood, vegetarian, salads, soups, burgers, and daily lunch specials.
Ambiance & Service: The space was clean, spacious, and not overly loud, making it great for a relaxing lunch. Service was friendly, efficient, and genuine. We never felt rushed, and our server checked in just enough to make sure we were enjoying ourselves.
Final Thoughts: Tortilla Soup nails the trifecta — great food, creative drinks, and an unforgettable atmosphere. Whether you’re dropping in for a quick lunch or planning a full evening out, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to. Everything from the décor to the menu feels thoughtfully crafted.

Read moreSpent a few days in McComb for business. I happened to learn about this place through Google and stopped by for dinner. Alexis at the bar was very friendly and accommodating. Her recommendation for the Charro Bean Soup was on point and the best item I had that evening. I ordered quite a bit, wanting to try a variety of tacos. I ordered the Honey Lime Steak Taco, the Bang Bang Shrimp Taco, Taco Al Pastor, Balls of Fire Taco, a cup of Charro Bean Soup, and the Quesabirrias. Needless to say I could not finish it all, lol. But overall the flavors were pretty good! As mentioned, the Charro Bean Soup was my absolute favorite! As a first time visitor, you are given a complimentary margarita or queso dip. Of course I tried the margarita! The selection or "flavor" of the month was Peach and it was quite delicious. A nice size for a complimentary drink!
And now for some constructive feedback...I found the cost of the tacos to be, well, overpriced. Particularly when I noticed that as my dinner arrived, the presentation was lackluster, with some of the menu-described toppings being presented on the side in disposable souffle cups. But hey, as an out of towner and a self proclaimed taco aficionado, my expectations are a bit different from the McComb community. And of course, because the tacos were a la carte, they all came on bland individual plates, leaving me to consolidate them myself onto a single platter to make room. But all in all, the food was tasty!
The atmosphere was inviting, jubilant, and clearly the highlight of the McComb nightlife.
I would definitely return to Tortilla Soup on my next business trip. And I know exactly what I would order! Thank you, Alexis, for the great service! And to the heart of the house, the kitchen crew, thank you for your hard work and...
Read moreI just had the best margarita I have EVER had in my life. My attendant heard my questions and come up with a drink that blew my mind. The drink is off the chain but the friendly way she listened and took time off her so very busy running was preVid. If anyone knows the power in that statement well you get how above satisfied I am. I say I am because I’m still here. Thinking of asking for room and board. Amber is my guide this day. Y’all should ask for her if possible. She’s so great. The love and attention to a random customer speaks volumes of their attention to perfection in their jobs here. So rare these days. I only ask, if this is enough info, so you’d come see, I have no doubt that you too will become a fan and supporter of this...
