Penn's Restaurant — Restaurant in McComb

I don't know if it was just a bad day for them yesterday or not, because Penn's is usually very good, but honestly I just think it's this particular location. I had good expectations of this place when we stopped there on our way back to Jackson from New Orleans, but our experience left much to be desired. The service was alright (the place didn't seem busy at all), but the food was very mediocre. The catfish tasted ok but they were just very small strips cut up from a filet seemed like. The greens were too sweet with no other flavor, but I never expected to also have SWEET MACARONI & CHEESE! Seriously, the mac n cheese was so sweet it was more like eating macaroni & caramel!!🤦🏽‍♀️ It was just ridiculous! When I eat mac n cheese I expect it to be cheesey, tangy, and creamy not sweet! Horrible horrible customer service!!! I order my food at 10:41am. I’m waiting and waiting. All the workers in the back laughing and talking loud and all not giving a care about the customers. Finally at 11:15 the girl says oh we waiting for the grease to get hot. Really?!?!? Patiently trying to keep my cool and finally get my food at 11:35 am and my hush puppies are missing. The guy acted like I didn’t get hush puppies by the sign clearly says 2 sides and 2 hush puppies with the #6. Asked for a cup of ice since I’ve been waiting forever without really any communication and the guy says there is a charge for a cup of ice. I was like I’ve been waiting all this time and I can’t get a cup of ice?? He shook his head no. I never write reviews but this is totally unacceptable!!! A large plate consists of 4 shrimps and broken catfish nuggets and enough cold french fries to fed 4 people....cost? Right at $15.00. The catfish nuggets looked like the belly fat on large catfish. The manager(I am guessing)...had to help cashier open the register drawer...this cashier with plastic glove on hand raked through the plate and explained it was correct...then she closes plate ...tried to give it to me after touching keys on register.
