I wanted to stop for breakfast, have an espresso. Tried to find a place that served great coffee, offered pastry's as well as acai bowls. I used ai to give me options and this place come up close to the location I was driving thru.
Couple things. Super clean, looks great inside. But the door facing the parking lot doesn't have a sign on it, and the building looks like it is two different businesses. I would recommend putting an easy branding on the door that faced the parking lot. I thought it was on the patio side and walked all the way around.
Like I said, the atmosphere is great. The pastries displayed all looked fresh and super tasty. I placed my order and waited. I received my pastry immediately. I asked for it to-go. I asked for my coffee and acai bowl dine in. I got a number and sat down. somewhere between 5-8 mins later a gigantic acai bowl came out, followed a minute or two later by a to-go coffee. The acai bowl looked great. Coffee was to-go instead of dine-in. Not a huge deal but took longer to get than the food, and they were not very busy. Weird. But fine.
Took a bite into the HUGE acai bowl and it was soupy already. The bowl was chilled/frozen so by the time I got it it already was starting to melt. I would recommend a few things for the store. Raise the price of the regular acai bowl. OR make the bowl smaller. That much acai, fruit, homemade granola, and coconut is a lot. A lot to eat and acai bowls don't save for leftovers. The food cost has to be terrible and I don't want to see it disappear from the menu. And you have to chill/freeze the bowl ahead of time if its going to take that long to make. If you make it smaller, it wont take as long to make and it wont get soupy. If you freeze the bowl and keep the portions the same you have more time to put it together without it melting. Ive never had that big of a bowl and I felt guilty if I didnt eat it all. I was sooooo stuffed. It was delicious, but seriously. Chill out. Make sure its a good food cost item and makes money on the menu. I hate when good items get removed because they lose money to the store.
Pictures dont do it justice. The regular bowl is the size of my head. The pastry had good flavor but cant say more than that. It got a little melty in the sun while driving so I put it in the fridge so harden the melty toppings, and it turned into a brick and became inedible. My mistake, I left it in the fridge too long and got dry. And dont prioritize drive thru customers at the expense of dine in customers. Weird to receive food before a coffee at a store that sells primarily coffee. But...
Read moreFor a high end coffee shop with very expensive prices even for the toast options, I was far from impressed. They only have teenagers and young folks working who do not greet you or speak to you, even when you're standing at the register waiting to order. I was waiting for 5 minutes and the 3 employees stood in front of the coffee machine tlaking and then one took a drink and placed it on a table to take a picture of the drink to make a social media post. They were more concerned about this then greeting or helping customers waiting to order. When speaking to the manager the Manger gave the typical smile and nod showing she did not genuinely care about any of the concerns and was not going to even talk to her employees about not greeting or helping customers. Her body language and responses said it all.
We went in to get pastries and they refuse to put any prices of their pastries up for customers to view. You have to wait forever for someone to help you and then go on the register to manually look up the prices while waiting even longer. They also refuse to put a menu with prices online when every other graces coffee has their menu online. This is what the manager told us when we talked to her about our complaints. She even tried to say this was typical practice and I called ger out on the lie and said every single other location does this except for your location and she did not care at all. This is just another over priced high end chain coffee shop that doesn't care about customer concerns because people still come and buy the stuff. You honestly get better service from the local Cafe coffee shop and better customer service and greetings from kwik trip or any other local store. This location does not care about customer complaints or customer service. Save your money on over priced food and visit the local mcfaroand house Cafe for same food but better prices while giving money to a local family owned business instead of a high end chain ran coffee shop that isn't worth the horribly...
