Main Street Station — Restaurant in McHenry

Disclaimer: this was 3 years ago. Had to update because it came up with some of the people I dined with that night and they told me I had the amounts wrong. Used to come here often. Will never be back. Dined here with a big group (friends, family & children) in late January. Altogether, our bill was a little more than $330.00 and we left a tip of $90.00. As we were leaving, the "Manager" came out and yelled at us, in front of other customers, that our party only left a $40.00 tip for our waitress. It was embarrassing, degrading and most of all, Completely INCORRECT! We left a message with the restaurant. I believe the owner's daughter (Kelly?) called back and left a voicemail. Turns out the woman who told us she was the "Manager" is a waitress that bartends on Sundays. Kelly said she was spoken to and told that her behavior was inappropriate. Kelly also apologized for our experience. Not enough. I'm extremely disappointed. And honestly sad, because I love the food here but I will never go back to an establishment that treats their customers so badly....

I really like Main Street Station. I try to make a habit of coming here at least once a month. The food is always delicious, but can sometimes be a little slow.

My biggest complaint is oddly enough the men's bathroom. I have broader shoulders and the bathroom stall is very tiny, and makes me feel claustrophobic, as I brush up against the walls and stall wall Every. Darn. Time.

Bathroom aside, I've never had a problem with the placement of the omnipresent video poker machines in McHenry, as the main dining area of Main Street Station has them, but the annex does not, and I always dine in the annex.

It used to be really good. The service is now terrible! The table next to me had to cancel their order. Two of the people at that table got their food, the third did not. They did buy the man his dinner, but his wife and daughter were already done eating, It's Mexican food! The meat is cooked already! Why does it take an hour to get your food? Used to be you were served in about 10 minutes. It seems that someones brother in law can't get a job anywhere else so they hired him. And he still doesn't do his job!
