Jose's Taqueria — Restaurant in McMinnville

I came to Jose’s after a lengthy travel day from Tucson AZ. After checking into the hotel I was worn out significantly and very hungry as my day started at 1:30am (it is now 8:00pm local time). Normally, I avoid Mexican food during travel because I am lucky enough to live in one of the best places in the country for it. That said, Jose’s was literally two minutes away, so I figured I’d give it a shot as I was too weary to really want to put more effort into finding something else. Upon walking into the taqueria the atmosphere was immediately welcoming and vibrant with all the food on display and looking fresh, despite it being near the end of the business day for them. After selecting a double meat Nachos to go; I was impressed by the warm service, recommended options for a first timer, and the quickness they were getting great smelling food out to the diners that had arrived before me. I was excited. After returning to my hotel, that initial excitement melted into genuine appreciation and satisfaction for what I had stumbled upon. Wow! I'm staying at the Best Western nearby and ran across this place when I was looking for dinner the first night I arrived. They weren't open that late (it was probably about 10pm), so I came back for lunch with my friend another day and the food absolutely blew my socks off! I got the taquitos with some chips and guacamole. The cooks were great about making sure there was no cheese or sour cream on my plate when I told them I was allergic to dairy and they didn't make me feel silly for having dietary restrictions. The taquitos we're PACKED densely with chicken, and the guacamole and pico de gallo were divine! I literally cleaned my plate, and I even hoovered up the chip crumbs. And because I was so enamored of the food, I brought my husband back the next day before we flew back home! It wasn't a fluke- the food was just as amazing the second time around!! Basic conclusion: this place has amazing food, truly lovely employees, and even hosts a lovely sitting area that feels comfy and yet spacious at the same time. 11/10 would HIGHLY recommend making a stop here and discovering the amazing dishes...

As a small business owner of 2 businesses, i understand how important it is to receive positive reviews. So instead of initially leaving a negative review, I called to inform the business that my husband got severe food poisoning from his establishment and the response was, “I don’t know how, our food is always fresh”. Same response you gave to another patron who informed you of the same thing in a previous review.

Anything could have happened, Anything. The important thing is someone got sick. That should never be your response. I can’t speak about anything other than the way we were handled when bringing something to their attention.

You never inquired about what was ordered, the day or anything. You just basically told us it couldn’t have been from your restaurant.
