First time visiting. Met some friends for drinks and some food. The space is really great! Inside seating. Bar seating. Outside porch seating. A covered area full of picnic tables is another option. Then, down below, is a very comfortable place to socialize -- fake turf grass, lots of tables and chairs and umbrellas. Very well put together place. Very comfortable and inviting.
Great mix of folks. From infants to old folks. Everybody seemed to be having a great time.
All the staff we dealt with were super nice!
You can order inside or from a QR code on the tables. There is another place to get a limited menu and limited beer selection outside down where the "garden" area is.
Beers were pretty good. Extensive brown liquor menu. Buffalo chicken dip was great. Devilled eggs were pretty good, although on the small side. My wife enjoyed her apple/goat cheese salad. Our friends got the lasagna pizza and really enjoyed it.
Downsides? One possible downside is if you don't like kids. They are EVERYWHERE down in the garden area. Running around, crawling around, kicking a ball, chasing each other. I like kids and don't mind the ruckus, but it's a bit chaotic in that area and some folks were obviously bothered by it enough to move out of that area. Another issue, if they are busy or getting busy, is the "order at the upstairs bar" thing. It is (or at least is was last night) a REALLY slow process. Lots of folks in line. Two people taking orders but dealing with lots of folks who weren't even trying to figure out what they want to order until they get up to the register. Trying to get another beer or even a refill on a soda became a bit of a nightmare because it was taking sooo long to process people at the bar. I know that's mostly an inconsiderate customer type issue --- when a place is busy, have your ordering figured out before you get up to the register (they have menus you can look at while waiting in line and the menu is online as well). Gave up trying to get beer inside and just ordered more at the outside bar (BUT they have a limited beer menu there so there were beers we wanted that were on tap inside that we couldn't get outside).
I don't mean to be a downer, but folks should be aware of the potential downsides when going in.
Did we enjoy our visit? YUP! Will we...
Read moreBeen hearing a lot of great reviews about this place so me and my husband decided to check it out. We pulled up and it was packed for a Friday night. We walked up to the front counter and we told him we’ve never been here before so he gave us the spill. You seat yourself and you can either order at the counter or there is Barcode on the table that you can and order and pay yourself. We tried to order our self but there was too much on the app and was a bit confusing so we just ordered at the counter. The gentleman asked if I wanted to leave a tab so of course I did cause it’s easier to close out at the end of the night. We ordered a beer, and Coke flight of grandma eggs, and two pizzas to start. We sat outside so not sure if the service is any different inside, but it was nice outside. There’s no servers but food runners, so when our eggs came there were pretty good, you get 6 half’s so 3 choices total. We decided to order another flight. Then our pizza came and we asked for two ranches but they never came no big deal. Around 20 mins goes by and I went back inside to order my husband another beer. A different guy from before runs up to the counter and looked frustrated he had to take my order again… I ordered the beer and I politely told the gentleman we ordered another flight of eggs but havnt came out yet and just wanted to check in. He replied “oh yea I’m sure there pretty back up” it like a pushy tone. Soon we got the other flight and closed the tab ($75 total). Later we discovered they put a hold of $25 on your card if you start a tab and it returns 24 hours later. However they messed up and closed and reopened my tab so I was charged $50 instead. It would’ve been nice to be made aware of that before agreeing to keeping my tab open. Maybe every bar does this now but it caught us off guard being charged almost $125 for the whole trip. I will say they have a nice patio area and kids are welcome which is nice for big families just wished the service was a...
Read moreMy wife and I have made it a habit to only stop at craft breweries when we are out and about during our travels of the Great State of North Carolina. One of those craft breweries recently was the Bright Penny Brewery in Mebane. We always start off with a Flight of beers and (Play some Cribbage) and choose which is our favorite, we also try to take in some items from their menu. My wife ordered the Bad Henny with a side salad & I ordered an Italian Stallion with chips. I wanted to also order a large Bavarian pretzel but was initially told they were no longer available, then she said they weren't available until 3:30 and then she told me just a moment and went to ask another employee and he told me that pretzel were not available until after 5 and yet it is listed on the menu and we did not see a time period when it was or wasn't available. :( Any Way we both enjoyed our meals and beers. While we were eating, we both felt droplets of water being sprayed on us. When I looked in the direction from which it was coming from, I saw the wall mounted Air Conditioner above the window spraying water out of its air vent on to us and the table. We moved away from the spraying water area (See photos) and told an employee of the water spraying issue and continued to enjoy our Food and Beverage. I have attached some pictures. We enjoyed ourselves and laughed off the spraying water issue. We gave 4 stars due to the pretzel and water spraying issue at our table. We will be back perhaps sometime after 3:30 or is it 5. :) P.S. The condensate drain...
