Massimo's Italian Bakery — Restaurant in Mechanicsburg

First off, WOW!!! There are not enough stars to give Massimos! My parents and I went late afternoon on Saturday and was shocked by how much they had in stock for the middle of the day on a weekend! We come from Brooklyn, NY and are very picky with our pastries and they did not disappoint. It felt like we were back home! They have authentic Italian baked goods-and things that most Pennsylvanians don’t know about. The count was tan by a mother & her two daughters. All were very pleasant. Explained can’t find rainbow (7 layer cookies) around here and how nice it was to see. Mentioned I can’t have chocolate or caffeine and she even says I can call in to order WHITE CHOCOLATE RAINBOW COOKIES!!! I highly recommend this place- whether you know about most of these pastries or not, you will not be disappointed.

It is also a nice change to have an authentic Italian bakery as well as a bakery that does in house. 90% of bakeries in this area outsource ( trust me) I also don’t want to throw shade at other businesses but there is another Italian bakery not too far and not only are they over prices and unprofessional but they couldn’t even wipe the shoes of Massimos...

I had a delightful experience at Massimo's Bakery in Mechanicsburg, PA. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed with the cleanliness of the establishment, which immediately set a positive tone for my visit. The standout feature, however, was the exceptional staff who went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They were not only friendly but also genuinely eager to assist and answer any questions I had. The owner's presence was notable, as he was not only accommodating but also took the time to engage with customers, making the atmosphere warm and inviting.

The display of baked goods at Massimo's Bakery was a feast for the eyes, with beautifully crafted pizzas, cookies, cakes, and more. I couldn't resist trying some of their items, and I was not disappointed. The taste matched the visual appeal, and I found their cakes and cookies to be absolutely delicious. I am looking forward to returning to Massimo's Bakery to indulge in more of their delightful treats and to place orders for special occasions. It was a great experience until it wasn't. We decided to try out the local bakery. My family read great reviews, we stopped in tried the Italian desserts which were all fantastic, they were friendly especially the daughter and male owner, so we decided to buy a 80 dollar birthday cake for my daughter's birthday. We had asked for a half chocolate, and half vanilla cake. When we went to cut it for my daughters birthday it was a layered cake instead so everything was mixed. We handed it out to the kids anyways and not a single kid ate more then 2 bites. It was nearly unedible. We wernt going to write a review, but after stopping in after the party to make them aware of their mistake the one lady said oh we normally just do layered cakes while the other girl reassured her no we told them we were doing a half and half cake.
