We had a bad experience at this diner and won't be returning. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time. We've had some issues previously with the wait staff and our food being incorrect. This time our waitress was very friendly and the food was good, which is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. However, I would give the manager 0 stars if I could. She was very rude, argumentative and contradictory. I will say that we arrived later in the evening, but before closing (or so we thought). We had 7 people that came in 3 separate cars and we all arrived around 8:20-8:30. We were told previously that they stopped seating at 8:40 because they close at 9. Although it was late, we thought we came in enough time to be seated. They did serve us and everything was fine until we went to pay our bills. The manager was rude and basically told us they were closed when we arrived and they had already shut down the kitchen, which is why it took so long to get our food. We actually didn't feel it took long at all and didn't complain about anything, so we're not sure where that came from. Nor did we just sit there for hours holding everyone up. Overall, we were there just over an hour. She basically told us we couldn't stay any longer (we were paying and packing up to leave anyway), so that comment was completely unnecessary. She basically made us feel like she was doing us a favor by letting us eat there, but now we have to leave immediately. She also complained about how they were being held up and how she had to drive home late at night to Mount Laurel (which is only about 10-15 minutes away). This was about 9:30, so not very late. We also got contradictory information about the closing time. We were told 8:00, 8:30 and 9:00 by 3 different people. They clearly need to get all of their staff on the same page. Yelp lists the closing time as 10 and Google says 12, so you can see how it can be confusing. My father and I confronted the manager about the rude comments and how she upset my mother and daughter. She and another waitress were very argumentative. Yes, we were upset and arguing with them as well, but there would have been no need for any of this if the manager hadn't made the rude comments to begin with, especially since this was our second visit this week. To treat frequent customers with disrespect is not right. They also claimed that the state requires them to close at 8, which is incorrect. We have family that works in restaurants in this area and they are open later, so we know that's not true. Honestly, I would not recommend going there. The food is pretty good and some of the wait staff is nice, but there are plenty of other restaurants/diners in the area with better food, better prices and friendlier staff/management. Don't waste your...
Read moreI am writing this review still sitting at my table. Have been waiting on the check for maybe like 15 minutes now, but our waitress keeps walking straight passed us. Or chatting with the tables surrounding us. Before I write this review I’ll have to admit that everything that went wrong fell completely on the women serving us. I don’t know either of their names because they didn’t name drop, and they are lucky for that. Maybe that was on purpose. Medport is a nice, clean, diner and the hostess was welcoming and sat us at a table immediately. If it weren’t for that I would have tried to have rated 0 stars. This is because I watched both of them walk around doing nothing in particular for 20 minutes before coming over to us. Talking and laughing with the regulars and disappearing. I didn’t know who’d be our server but I wish it wasn’t either of them. Mind you it is 3:30 PM now, not busy in here at all and not busy in most places because we’re inbetween lunch and dinner. Being a waitress myself, in a restaurant that is always busy, I know where credit is due. When one of our 2 waitresses finally took our order, we got an order of jalepeno poppers to start, I got a veggie burger with a substitute of sweet potato fries, and my boyfriend ordered a BLT club on wheat, substitute sweet potato fries. This woman repeated it back to us and STILL, only my veggie burger got a substitute of sweet potato fries and my boyfriend’s sandwich came on white, not wheat. No sweet potato fries. Not to mention my veggie burger was cold, the lettuce was wilted and brown, and all of the fries were freezing. Now I have absolutely 0 doubt in my mind by the amount of time that we waited for our entrees in a practically empty restaurant, that our food sat in the window in that kitchen for long after it was made. And you might be thinking at this point, “why didn’t you guys just leave?” or “why didn’t you have your food remade?” The answer is that we were STARVING. And we went to Medport because the food typically comes out fast and is good and the service is usually decent at worst. Now I already mentioned our check situation, while waiting, we heard one of our servers messing up EVERYONES orders. Clearly these people do not know how to do what they were hired for. If Medport wants business they should replace staff. I am sure not going back, and I am also sure to spread the word. This was an experience from hell and I wouldn’t wish it upon anybody. And all of this being said, I have to admit that against my $20 tip policy (yes I tip and have tipped a minimum of $20 to anyone’s that’s served me, because as a waiter or waitress you do not make an hourly wage), Itipped her $1. But truthfully, she didn’t even deserve a dime. Good luck with them,...
Read moreMy food order was almost $75.00 for a family of 4. It was a take out order that included 4 chicken noodle soups. When our family sat for dinner, we all agreed the soup that we have enjoyed twice in the past had a sour like terrible taste. I called Lauren, the Manager on duty who claims nothing is wrong with the soup because she had no other complaints & had a cup herself earlier. I asked if I can have the soups replaced. She replied condescendingly that the soups were complimentary with my $75 meal. Lauren spoke to me with a nasty attitude obviously expressing her discontent about my concern. She said she was on her way out the door & said if I want to return them she doubts the Manager on duty the next day will replace them because "again they're complimentary!" I responded if it's part of my $75 meal, I should feel 100% satisfied & not be on the phone for 10 mins being told nothing is wrong with their soup. I'm only asking for a replacement when they make a new batch on a different day. Lauren became more irate when I asked what time will she be there so I can return the soups. She raised her voice again with an attitude & told me I can return them the next evening when she's on duty & as I was thanking her I heard "CLICK!" Oh yes, she hung up on an unsatisfied customer over soup, $75 later. I was thinking I can cook my delicious Homemade Chicken Soup & bring her a bowl with a Christmas card because I think she may need warm comfort in her tummy to lighten up on that disgusting & ugly disposition. RUDE! I threw the soups out & will never return there again. Hopefully, Lauren will get additional training on her "delivery" in Customer Service because you can't teach compassion. Lauren, as I recall the rules of an accomplished establishment is the Customer is always right. It was "SOUP" not Filet Mignon! The nerve to treat someone like this after I left a $20 tip for a $75 meal for a family of 4 makes me wonder if I paid...
