The Wharf Fresh Seafood Market & Eatery in Medford, Oregon is hands down one of the best seafood restaurants in Medford and arguably the best place to eat seafood in Southern Oregon. Despite Medford not being a coastal city, this hidden gem shatters all expectations when it comes to fresh, delectable seafood.
We kicked off our culinary adventure with the North Beach Mussels in a rich, flavorful red sauce that was cooked to perfection—never rubbery, always tender. Following our server's advice, we paired them with a side of sourdough bread, perfect for soaking up every drop of that amazing sauce.
Next came the crab and artichoke dip—a true treat that set the stage for the rest of our meal. Unlike many seafood spots that skimp on the crab, this dip was generously loaded, making it a delectable, super tasty starter that had everyone raving. (Apologies for the photo of the dip missing a bite or two—we just couldn’t wait to dive in!)
Our taste buds were further delighted by the bay shrimp cocktail, served with a homemade cocktail sauce that struck the perfect balance of heat and sweetness without overpowering the shrimp. For our entrées, we indulged in both the crab and shrimp burrito and the crab and shrimp wedge salad, and needless to say, every bite was savored—there wasn’t a morsel left on our plates, even after a generous round of appetizers.
To top it all off, the cocktail menu is a fun and diverse selection of drinks, offering something for every palate. We left thoroughly impressed and already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for top-notch seafood that defies expectations in Medford, make sure to stop by The Wharf Fresh Seafood Market & Eatery—you won’t be...
Read moreTHE WHARF FRESH SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IS THE ROGUE VALLEY’S BEST RATED #1 SEAFOOD RESTAURANT FOR 10 YEARS. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The nautical seafaring decor takes you to the beach and the salt water coral fish tanks sets the atmosphere. It offers inside & outside dining for lunch and dinner as well as a full bar! Their signature Bloody Mary is a meal in itself. A nice variety of wines & beers on tap as well. The patio dining is my favorite as it offers a very relaxing vibe. Happy Hour is 4:00 to 6:00 & you can enjoy appetizers & drinks at a discounted price. Each dish is prepared fresh to order with a choice of broiled, grilled or battered & fried to a golden brown. Brent Kenyon owns the restaurant and the secret recipe to their famous clam chowder. It’s savory flavor is like no other chowder I’ve ever tasted. During the COVID pandemic Brent kept his doors open so every child could come in for a free bowl of clam chowder everyday! That was his way of giving back to the community. Another favorite appetizer is the crab cocktail as the cocktail sauce is made fresh daily (another secret recipe). The menu offers something for everyone from the cod fish & chips or grilled halibut basket. If your looking for something on the lighter side try the Wedge Blue Cheese shrimp & crab salad served on romaine lettuce with heirloom cherry tomatoes. It’s almost to pretty to eat. The service is impeccable. The entire staff are always so happy to greet you and make sure your dining visit is an enjoyable experience. I know why The Wharf is rated the #1 seafood restaurant. Read moreMy dad and his wife were visiting and wanted Seafood. We ordered a Crab Louie and two Cold Water Lobster Tails (that also came with salads and a choice of baked potato, mashed potatoes or rice). They were out of potatoes (???) and offered rice or French fries. All of the salads contained multiple pieces of slimy, old, wilted, black lettuce. We brought this to the attention of the waitress and did not eat them. The lobster arrived and it was raw - (clear opaque, gelatinous and jiggly). We asked to have them cooked a little more. 10 minutes later, they came back STILL way undercooked. My dad’s wife chose to give up on it at this point. I sent mine back for a 2nd time - telling them I would rather have it overdone than under done. Another 10 minutes goes by and it comes back out… STILL very undercooked. At this point, I also gave up. As I told the waitress, if I was paying $19.99 at Red Lobster, we wouldn’t be so picky. The market price on these lobster tails was $48.99 each. They ended up not charging us for the 2 lobsters, which was appreciated… but we left disappointed and still hungry. Our final bill was $54.99 for a beer, 3 glasses of wine and the Crab Louie because my dad decided to eat the crab off of the top of the nasty lettuce.. We tipped $20 in cash as it wasn’t the servers fault and will...
