I have come here a few times and loved the service and food. Today, on the other hand makes me want to never return and we will not. First, we were greeted by two very nice young ladies who were happy to accommodate my 9 year old and her 2 friends with sitting at a table while my husband, our older daughter and I sat at another table. The female manager, however, seemed greatly put out by our request but did so. It was not super busy. I ordered a meal I had previously ordered with no onions. When it arrived at the table it had onions. I had to return it and was told it was always made with onions. This is strange to me because in the past it did not come with onions when I asked! So I ordered a sandwich instead which, by the way was given to me with onions. I took it to go because everyone in our group had been done eating for at least 10 minutes I was charged for the sandwich that I took home. When we asked about it, the dark haired female manager told us that she had already comped a meal. Keep in mind that was the meal I sent back because it had onions which I specifically asked not to have. That was the restaurant’s mistake, not mine. That comp shouldn’t come into play at all! I pushed her on this and she eventually relented and comped the sandwich. There is more that I could say, but what’s the point? In conclusion, the female manager was not friendly, not accommodating and not apologetic for the mishap! We will not be returning to Medway Cafe after having such terrible service and dealing with the attitude of the female manager! Let me say again, it was not busy and to feel like we were a problem is never how a customer should feel, especially when we made it clear how I wished to have my order. We were here to celebrate a birthday of a 9 year old. The service, attitude and food were less than I have come to expect from Medway Cafe.
