Been seeing FM Pizza for some time, the building is an old Bank attached to a speakeasy right on the corner in the art district. Really been wanting to to try this place out, looks really neat!! Finally gave it a try the other evening Google maps said they were less busy than usual so decided to give them a go.. parking wasn't bad I lucked out with a spot right in front of the restaurant.. they have several tables for seating outside, with inside not being bad a little close together but nice. The architecture maintains the nostalgic feel of the old Bank..
we were seated in the far dining area which has a pass through door for the speakeasy.. I'm not going to lie, the food that we got was amazing.. unfortunately the server we had was new and had very little knowledge of the menu or skills. But luckily I did my homework after looking at this place for as long I have I've got an idea of what I want to try and with some luck we can flag the girl down!!!
To start we had the baked Brie with the flaming Hawaiian glaze my assumption was the Hawaiian glaze would be some sort of spicy pineapple sweet which would complement the cheese.. which came out perfect..
For dinner we ordered the meat lovers Pizza and I want to say Marietta Pizza but after 15 minutes the meat lovers came with the server telling us she didn't want it to get cold.. we waited about 30 - 40 more minutes snacking on the remnants of the Brie and the remaining few slices of the meat lover before flagging the waitress down and requesting the check which at this time has become the hostess because we can't find a waitress!
The hostess refilled our drinks and had the check brought over to us.. after having the second pizza removed we paid our bill. On the way out our server brought over the two pizzas that we originally ordered apologized and said they were on the house..
We gave the pizzas to the homeless man playing the guitar in front as well as a tip..
I'm starting to notice service is really drastically on the decline. I called to find out is there a better time to go to the restaurant as the food is outstanding.. the manager told me the times which fell within the times that I was there are the best times.. she didn't mention they had a big reservation that arrived.. but I'm feeling they threw a hostess into it or some friend of the family's kind of situation with this one.
Unfortunately after we left the restaurant it was such a letdown we didn't visit the speakeasy.. an evening unfulfilled.. I would definitely recommend this place and want to try it again the food is great from what we sampled.. was going to wait to review but Google wanted to know.. personally I'd recommend takeout.. can't go wrong but at the same time for the price there's so many more options out there.. for the price u want the feel, you want to sit down have dinner.. not have to flag the waitress down to get silverware or plates. Know more about the menu then...
Read moreSo I stopped by FM Pizza during the Derby just expecting a chill little bite to eat… but WOW, what I walked into was next level!
The place was alive, great people, nonstop energy, and the kind of vibe that makes you forget about everything else. I’m talking fashion shows, amazing food, dancing, laughter, and even a surprise proposal! Yep, someone got down on one knee and proposed right in the middle of the event 💍… and guess who caught it on video? This accidental and very unprofessional cameraman right here 😂 If you want to see my super real video of everything I experienced, don’t take my word for it , check it out on my Facebook and judge for yourself I couldn't download it here.
And it didn’t stop there… they absolutely killed it with the fashion show. The models turned the whole place into a runway, and the energy they brought? Unreal. I even got a chance to talk with Kimberly Ellis, the organizer such an inspiring and beautiful soul. 💃✨
There was also the incredible violinist, Char Good. She played with so much heart and brought this peaceful, powerful feeling to it all 🎻. The music, the crowd… even the Mayor of Melbourne showed up to enjoy some time with his wife!
I even chatted with the owner super down to earth, kind, and welcoming person. You could feel his passion in every part of the event, and it really made a difference.
Yes, they did get very busy, at times you could tell they were short on staff. I honestly hope they get some extra help for the next event, because they deserve it. The crowd was huge, and that alone says everything about how much support this place has.
I’ve seen other events, and honestly? Nothing close to the energy I felt in that place. It was one of those rare days that just hits you unexpected, unplanned, and unforgettable. I left feeling so full… and just a little sad it didn’t last longer. Pero todo tiene su final y nada dura...
Read moreI really always liked this place. Decided to go there on Friday. We ordered 2 pies, I requested an everything crust (which is $3 extra), my husband specifically said he does not want anything on his crust when asked. Waited over 45 minutes, then our waiter came over and offered us a margherita pie on the house, probably from someone who left or wrong order? We said yes because we were starving. Then our pizza's came. I ordered a specialty pie with broccolini, paying extra for it. My husband ordered a sausage plain pie. Both of our pies came with everything crust, but my husband was so hungry, he didn't send it back. My pizza had broccoli on it... I don't mind, but I paid extra for the broccolini, which is NOT the same as broccoli... assuming the chef would know the difference.. but I didn't complain, I was just happy to get food by this time. My husband cut off all of his crusts because he hates everything seasoning, and we had plenty to take home. They took our sodas off our bill for the inconvenience, but they still charged us both the $3 for the everything crust on the pizza which my husband didn't want. Didn't bother complaining, they were short staffed and obviously struggling to get the pizza's out. When I reheated the leftover pizza for my husband the next day, he found little circles of cardboard in between the crust and the cheese :( don't know what happened there, but after that, we will not go back again. Sorry... I liked this place, but they need to get their act together.. if you don't have enough staff, don't fill up the restaurant, close part of it off. Better to have good food and service than fill the place and produce...
