Fifth Avenue Art Gallery — Attraction in Melbourne

While I have had great experiences at Fifth Ave Gallery, I cannot let providing alcohol to minors slide. I was attending the opening night of a show tonight and there was open champagne at the front with cake. When you get the the back of the gallery there was a small food table with a water pitcher and an unlabeled punch bowl. I assumed this was a punch of sorts but it was in fact alcoholic. I only found this out after drinking it. I am under the age of 21 and currently in recovery (I do not drink under ANY circumstances). I brought my concern to Helen and another woman and was told "It must be watered down by now so you're fine" and then was laughed at. I am absolutely furious with how they handled the situation and will no longer be attending this gallery. What an awesome find, a true gem. It's wonderful that Melbourne has an arts district and Fifth avenue Art Gallery really stands out. Its a must visit place in Melbourne, tucked away near the water. The variety of art done by local artists is noteworthy. I'm a recent transplant to the area from San Diego CA and I found more quality pieces in Fifth Avenue art Gallery than I did in San Diego arts district.
