This place made it pretty high on a nationwide restaurant list recently, so when it was an option for breakfast on the morning of the start of my vacation driving down to Key West, it was a no brainer, we had to come try it out. And thank goodness we did. Talk about a diamond in the rough.
The place is in a boring looking strip mall, but step inside and you're transported to an island tiki bar. It's very cool in there. Surfer murals, ocean life on the TVs, and the giant tiki bar that holds the open kitchen. Very nice vibes.
The service was also full of very nice vibes. Very friendly people who were quick to point me in the right direction on the menu. Coffee refills kept coming very timely. No issues.
As for the food, wow, very unexpectedly good.
I had the The Waffle Cristo (ham and provolone cheese in a waffle sandwich with habanero maple syrup, dusted in powdered sugar, served with roasted potatoes). So good. Waffles made a great sandwich bread. The ooey gooey cheese, the slightly salty ham, and spice from the habanero syrup, this just all came together into an amazing little dish.
I also got to sample Mr. Billy's Sandwich (scrambled eggs, tiki bacon, roasted fresh pineapple, pepper jack cheese, on a Hawaiian ciabatta roll). Unfortunately, an even better sandwich. The ciabatta was sturdy, but not dry or tough. And the tiki bacon... One of the best things I've ever eaten. Candied, or spiced, or both, thick cut, it was easily the star of the show during my visit here. You just get the tiki bacon when you come here.
Overall, I'm glad I identified this place. I was very happy with my experience here, and if I'm ever anywhere near this area again, I will be...
Read moreMy daughter picked out this restaurant for us to try. It was the most AMAZING FOOD I'VE EVER TASTED! I love to eat at different restaurants and not the same ones all the time. If you are visiting Brevard County or live near Indianatlantic, Florida near Patrick Air Force Base, you will not be disappointed! I got the Hula Moa "Dancing Chicken" bowl with grilled pineapples (I would ask for more the next time I go) and added the tiki bacon!😋, and my daughter had the "KAHLI" RAINBOW MANGO POKE BOWL. It is like having fresh sushi! Amazing! And to top off our lunch together for dessert, we had the most AMAZING slice of Homemade Pina Colada Rum Cake with fresh strawberries, chocolate drizzle and whipped cream that was warm and so moist it melted in your mouth. It was one of the most enjoyable meals I've had. I will definitely be going back, and I am recommending it to all my friends and family. You can also make your own Poke Bowl, and they have vegan options. If I could give it a 10 star, I would. It is located in a strip mall, so use Google Maps to find this hidden gem! 💎 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Now remember, this is just my experience. But I don't think you will be disappointed....
Read moreI can’t say enough good things about Mel's Tiki Cafe—it’s truly a gem! This place serves up some of the most unique gourmet breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had, alongside delicious poke bowls and refreshing smoothies that burst with flavor. Every bite feels like a little hug, crafted with such care and thoughtfulness that you can tell the food here is made with love. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that stands out from anything else in town.
The vibe is what really seals the deal for me. Walking in feels like stepping into a home on the beach—relaxing, uplifting, and so welcoming. It’s the kind of place that instantly puts you at ease and makes you want to linger. I love bringing my mom here, and it’s become our special spot. She adores it just as much as I do—the food, the atmosphere, the whole package. Watching her smile over a perfectly made sandwich or a colorful poke bowl warms my heart every time.
If you’re looking for something different, something that makes you feel good inside and out, Mel's Tiki Cafe is where you need to be. It’s a little slice of paradise, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Five stars...
