The pizza I ordered from Monkey Bar was terrible. I ordered pizza for pickup. I was there to pick it up in the time I was asked, which was 15- 20 minutes. When I looked at the pizza before I left it was hideous. From the top of the crust and down roughly 2”-2.5” in and all the way around the pizza was nothing but dough, no cheese and no sauce. The rest of the pie’s toppings had sunk to the center of the pizza which wasn’t much to speak of because it was made with such a lite amount of toppings it would have even embarrassed Domino’s Pizza. They offered to remake the pizza so I said ok. I was very leery of the remake because of how bad the first one was but I was optimistic. The 2nd pizza came out quick, about 10 minutes. I had even commented, “wow that was quick.” But they were slow, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. My 14” pizza was put in an 18”-20” box so needless to say when I got home the pizza inside the oversized box was in disarray from sliding around inside. It wasn’t held together properly and as you can image, it was just a mess inside. That told me immediately they either don’t care about how they package there product or they were out of that size box. Either way it was a terrible display of what I paid for and the pride they conveyed for their product. Then as I looked at the pizza closer I came to the determinization it was the same pie, just put back in the oven and given right back to me. At that moment it made sense to me, That’s why it came out so quick. This is why it’s much better for the consumer to dine at a restaurant with an open kitchen which Monkey Bar does not offer. I understand anyone can have an off night but it’s the deception and undermining that Monkey Bar extended that as consumers we have to tolerate. But as consumers we don’t have to tolerate it. Our hard earn money and contribution to their establishment pays their wages. Don’t be afraid to question what you’re paying for at Monkey Bar because Monkey Bar is not afraid to deceive you and take your money. Buyer Beware…
Update: Hello, because of Monkey Bar's response to rectify the problem I feel Monkey Bar deserves a second chance to earn my business back. I will sometime in the near future order another pizza and hopefully this time leave a favorable review...
Read moreMy wife and I have been playing pool, drinking, eating, and having a good time at Monkey Bar for more than 10 years. The food was always good, and the bartender - Megan - was nice and friendly and always kept our glasses full. I even gave them a 5-Star review.
Unfortunately changes have occurred recently: all the pool tables have been replaced and the rates increased. "Free Pool" Wednesdays an Sundays now cost $2 for 2 games - no option for a single game and the price is higher for credit card. Considering they're new tables that might seem reasonable. But they don't take care of them any better than the old ones.
Other than Megan, we've never had another server actually come to the table for food or drink service. Months ago they started charging a 3% "service fee" for credit card use. But the fee is automatically added to the check and the bartenders say they can't remove it if I pay cash! And today, not only did she say she couldn't remove the service fee when I paid cash, but she shorted me on change saying they don't handle "jingle change". In other words, she rounded up to the next dollar resulting in me paying more for cash than if I had used a credit card.
To add insult to injury, we planned to eat there but she never came to the table, never offered us food or asked if we wanted to order anything. Might have been tolerable had they been busy. But we got there minutes after they opened at 3:00, left about 6:00 and she only had two other customers the entire time.
From now on we're heading to a place that cares about their customers...
Read moreMan.... I honestly meant to write this review last year but life has a way of grabbing you and not let go. My family was down in Melbourne for thanksgiving week because we lost my dad and also lost a very good friend who happened to wrap her husband's 911 around a telephone pole 2 weeks after we lost my dad so needless to say it was a weird holiday week.
One of the positive things was finding out through her husband that The Monkey Bar was one of her favorite places. As soon as I could, I ventured out and checked this place out and was very happy with what I found. The walk in through the "hallway" with the benches and artwork are a nice touch. The ambiance for Christmas was really cool. The bartender I think... Tasha??.. the white girl on the small right side bar was very attentive and suggestive in the food options. I went with the mahi taco, tuna taco and bbq taco (apparently I showed up on taco night special) because my next time you could not get this trio. But my God were these some delicious tacos! The attention to presentation was just as good as the food. I took an uber home after a few shots and a full belly. The next day I told my mom about my experience. She asked me to get her some mahi mahi tacos before we left. So a few days later before we headed back to Atlanta I picked up 6 tacos and she was impressed! We have bought 3 shirts so far even had one shipped to Atlanta by a family member. and can't...
