This restaurant is something of a mixed bag, starting with the menu, which is kind of boring. Aside from pizza it's dominated by variations of pasta in sauce. When I go out to eat I kind of like to go for things I don't make at home. The "Family Messes" featured on the menu turn out to be just large bowls of several kinds of mismatched pasta, all drowned in thick red sauce. On the plus side, it's very, very good red sauce.
That's the plus side in general for Comella's. The food might not be that interesting, but it's pretty good. The ravioli are the most interesting items on the menu, so I ordered the sweet potato ravioli which were delicious despite arriving at the table slightly overcooked. It wasn't enough to send them back, but the ravioli were just on the edge of becoming mushy. The filling and sauce saved the show on that one.
The fried calamri deserves special praise. I'm not a fussy eater although I know good food from bad. The one thing I'm really picky about is old, stale oil. I won't even touch bottled salad dressing because it tastes rancid to me. The calamari at Comella's was perfectly fried, in just the right amount of breading, with absolutely fresh oil. The only problem with the calamari is that it needed seasoning. It's better to under-salt than over-salt, but you do need some salt in the batter, and it's hard to correct that at the table with ordinary salt. Just a little salt and maybe a dash of pepper and Comella's calamari would be a must-try.
Seating at Comella's is very limited; this is basically a small pizzeria which also offers pasta dishes. For that reason if you do sit down for dinner, expect your appetizers to come out with your entrees. The pizza looks promising, given the excellent homemade sauce. We'll...

This is primarily a take-out business, however there are small dining tables in a very casual atmosphere for those who would rather dine in. Only drawback is that they do not deliver, however, the food is well worth picking up on the way home from work. Each dish is custom-made to order and there is an extensive menu of suggested specialty combinations of pasta, meats, veggies and sauces. The possibilities are infinite and the staff is always flexible and enthusiastic about giving you what you want. Every time I indulge, I get two orders & freeze one for a wonderful meal on another evening. You can't...
Read moreLiterally the best food i’ve ever had in my entire life. I came here for a trip with one of my best friends and we both agree that we should have saved this for last, because the meal we had really set the tone of all other food for remainder of trip and nothing measured up to this place, fortunately we came back the last day of our trip! I mean I dream about this food, I look back at the photos of the food, I get flashbacks daily of the food here. I wish I could’ve packed this shop up and brought it back to my city. Only downside- I know for a fact, they would be packed out every night out here. Im crying right now, I...
