This restaurant was in our radar for a long time and I can say after one visit I would not go back nor I would recommend it for good food (maybe if you want a drink). Let's start with the good things: atmosphere. Now, what is important in a restaurant: the food. Totally "meh". I ate a risotto that was on specials with no flavor. The taste of frozen peas was very notorious and took over the whole dish. Quantity is not important if the dish is not good, so I would not listen to the reviews that praise the portions. I will always look for quality over quantity, which this place does not deliver. For the service, I hate when I am still eating and servers start picking up the table. "No pressure" they say, but in the meantime let me take everything from the table so you feel so isolated and uncomfortable that you will only think about leaving this place. Eating while there is a person in front of you with the food already boxed is killing the mood for an enjoyable dinner. Definitely, not recommended unless you don't have anything else to do and you want to be overcharged for food. Finally, for a restaurant that charge $34 for a risotto, I would say: invest in good salt and pepper shakers. Using the containers you buy at the grocery store shows the little care this restaurant puts into their customers. Overall, if you are the type of person who loves overpaying for food and feeling that you are being kicked out while enjoying a good atmosphere, this is...
Read moreDid not even get the chance to eat here. Busy Sunday evening, but table for 8 was still available to book online. We arrived on time, but hostess greeted our group with snarky comments, we would need to wait 10-15 min because we had only made the reservation 20 min prior. Probably not her fault regarding the technical details of online reservations, but handled very poorly nonethless. She was visibly irritated...but we persisted. 10-15 min stretched to 20 then 30 min. She made no effort to update us, barely acknowledged our presence, 30 min we finally find out the previous party is paid but hasn't left the table yet, we begin to get irritated and are met with additional commentary about booking the reservation 20 min in advance. A big group with hungry kids under 6, hot muggy summer evening, we looked for places that offered last minute reservations precisely so we wouldn't have to wait around. Just couldn't wait any longer and went elsewhere. Disappointing to waste the time and unfortunate because we had heard good things about Giacomo's. Small details make a big difference and weekend host staff is in need of some training...
Read moreI have been there many many times over the years. Well over 25 times. This will be my last time. We went there to celebrate my daughter‘s birthday and when we made the reservations and went to the restaurant there was no mention that we can’t have dessert. Also no mention on the website. The waitress had an attitude the whole night, At the end she tossed us the bill and said we don’t do desserts and coffee because of the pandemic. At this point I got a little bit aggravated especially since we asked our daughters boyfriends parents to join us who lived 2 hours away. I think that the reason they do not let anyone know that they won’t be serving dessert and coffee is to so people who are coming for a special occasion don’t go elsewhere , Which I believe its dishonest not to disclose that .My shrimp and scallop scampi might as well have been a bowl of oil. Like I said we always liked the place but we will not be back. This is a place that I thought prides themselves in good food and good service. I...
