French Truck Coffee — Restaurant in Memphis

Staff have always been super helpful and friendly. I did get the Salmon toast today. The only issue Ihad was that they did three different acidic melodies that over powered the taste of the lox and accompanying accoutrements. They added olive oil and lemon. You have the natural oil from the fish and the acidic from the capers. If I didn't wallk 2 miles to get here and wasn't hungry for some CarbS, I probably wouldn't have eaten it.

I had originally given a 4 star review, which was PREMEDITATED Upon exiting I went backto the counter, and had asked for a fill of water in my pre- existing cup from my purchase. I was embarking on the two mile walk back home. The gentlemen atthe counter said he would have to dump the ice out of my cup and dispose ofit and charge me for another Cup for water.

They seem to lean toward third wave coffee with much lighter roasts than I would expect from a place called "French Truck." The dark roast is almost medium and the medium roast is almost light. The coffee is not as strong as I prefer but the beans must be good because the flavor profiles of the beans' origins really shine and I have enjoyed many cups of coffee while relaxing in the concourse. I haven't tried their au lait, which is hard to mess up if you use the New Orleans chicory blend as they say they do. My biggest grip is that they use a light roast for espresso—not very French at all. As a matter of fact, I can't stand this light roast espresso trend. Terribly sour a that level of concentration. Blonde espresso is an abomination. So, decent coffee. But not a traditional European espresso if that's something you're...

If you are like me....a great coffee bean is akin to a fine wine grape...and it takes searching, tasting, disappointment, searching some more and finally success! As a new Memphian, transplanted from L.A., this was ""my" quest, for the perfect bean. Enter Yellow Truck...not only do I love their logo...and the refreshingly brilliant team of barista's at the Crosstown location - Liv...she was amazing, knowledgeable and patient- ...i asked a million questions, tasted several different brews and think I found my love in the La Nouvelle - New Orleans blend w/chicory...yes, chicory....its been forever...i left with a free cup with my bean purchase, a free bean punch card and a smile! Thank you Liv...welcome to Memphis...and you are an awesome French Truck ambassador who should get a raise for your stellar...
