What a wonderful find! They really knew what they were doing when they created this delightful, innovative deli/grocery (think NY bodega). With such an amazing array of offerings you’re sure to find what you want plus many items you never dreamed you'd find here. Chef Max’s delicious creations like innovative and classic sandwiches, deli salads and sides with a twist, and prepared dishes to take home like lasagna are all expertly crafted with fresh high-quality ingredients. I’ll return again and again for the spinach and goat cheese quiche and smoked albacore tuna. The grocery offers so many of my favorite things, including a beautiful variety of the freshest produce possible, that I hardly need to go to the supermarket. Mad Grocer at Crosstown Concourse is a wonderful mom-and-pop shop that offers so much. The food is always spectacular, fresh, flavorful, and full of soul. Max brings an incredible Memphis/New Orleans flair to the deli, and every bite reflects his creativity and passion. The wine selection is thoughtfully curated and pairs perfectly with anything on the menu.

What really makes this place stand out are the owners, Max and Josie. They’re amazing people who genuinely care about their customers and their establishment. Every visit feels warm and welcoming, and it’s always a delight to see them.

When we heard they had a Beet Reuben Sandwich, we had to try it! It was great! We also had the Portobello Mushroom Sandwich, Onion Rings, Cheese Sticks, and a slice of Potato Tart. It was a lot of food! Everything was delicious. The Cheese Sticks are unlike any we've ever had before. They have more of a battered coating compared to the standard breadcrumb coating. We highly recommend them. They have several other Veggie friendly choices that we are looking forward to trying in our next visit. They package all of the food to go for easy transport, but they do have a few tables in the store to eat at if you so choose. We ate there and it was very comfortable to do so.
