Popped in here because I was hungry and it was close, and I'd been eyeballing the place for a while. I Accidentally ended up showing up a bit before opening and waited, getting in as soon as they had opened. Obviously it was a bit of a wait since they were booting up their systems and getting everything started- but it was well worth the 20 minutes. I had ordered the curried chicken, with rice and peas and fries- roommate had the jerk chicken pasta and coco bread. Cost about $45, which I thought was expensive... until I was handed one of the biggest plates of my life.
I don't usually like bone-in chicken (I'm autistic, and finding bones on my food makes it inedible to me)- but it ended up being no problem, because merely picking up a bone was enough for every bit of meat to just... slide off. Nevermind that jt was just flaking off, it was so tender- and it tasted incredible. Seasoned fries were tasty, and the rice and peas was good too- and there was so much of it, I had to take it to go. The pasta was peppery and tasty, and the bread was super soft. The employee we spoke to was sweet and easygoing, despite it being early. I had a great time!
I was shocked to come here to write a review to see a rating under 4 stars. Id say, don't let that drive you off- the menu might be small but the food was great. Ill...
Read moreMe and my friend came here tonight and I love Jamaican spots that play reggae music so I was excited to come. We came close to 10p it wasn't alot of ppl, but they had a Dj and the music was cool but I've heard better from other Djs that play reggae music. Our waitress was good, she was friendly and attentive. However I got the jerk chicken with rice and peas and plantains and she got jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. Worst jerk chicken I ever had. My leg wasn't done all the way through and the other part of the chicken was mostly bone hardly no meat. The chicken was drowned in sauce and the sauce wasn't bad, but I like my chicken with no sauce and good jerk chicken doesn't need any. The chicken lacked that good jerk flavor thats why it needed sauce. Rice and peas didn't have much flavor and my plantains that were suppose to be "ripe" were not sweet. I was very disappointed, it was 2 of us and we got charged automatic gratuity so food with gratuity was $31 a piece. Now I love food and I don't mind paying for good food, but this wasn't good at all. We wasted time and money and won't be returning it was just not worth it. I'm a chef and I visit alot of places I've had some really good authentic jerk and this was just not it. Hope they do better maybe I'll return in the future, but no...
Read moreI was waiting to taste the oxtails because it’s all I eat at Jamaican restaurants!!! Smh DISAPPOINTED! Maybe I came at the wrong time but my oxtails were dry. I’m use to a “little” liquid on my oxtails but these was very dry. The rice was extremely dry too! Smh they put my rice in the larger side of the take out tray vs the bigger side so I only got two oxtails with some potatoes and carrots mix in some stew type thick gravy! I paid $3 for some jerk chicken gravy(something I do at every Jamaican restaurant) and they give me some gravy from the pot in a small cup. THESE PEOPLE GAVE ME A CUP OF JERK SAUCE! Two different things!!! Smh then I ordered SEASONED FRIES! Nothing about them was seasoned to be paying extra money like that. WAY TOO PRICEY FOR THE MOST PART. IVE TASTE BETTER JAMAICAN FOOD!!! Was not expecting such bad oxtails...
