I hate to say that I am writing a review without actually eating the food. As a vegetarian, I was extremely excited about trying this "restaurant." However, I guess that a lot of my experience may come from my own ignorance, but I did not realize that this place was more bar than restaurant. I am a twenty-something recent graduate school grad, so I can still "hang" with a college crowd. However, I do have a family, and we dine out as a family, this is not a place that I would take anyone under 21. I did some research prior to going, and the website gave more of a cafe type vibe than a dive bar vibe. The price point of the menu items was another thing that was a bit misleading as to the "ambiance" of the bar. The employees did seem friendly enough, but I wouldn't expect too much from the atmosphere. I was also surprised to see a "smoking" section, it has been a long time since I have seen one of those in a restaurant or a bar. Consequently, the smoking section was the only part of the place that gave a restaurant vibe. I guess RP Tracks serves the purpose that it intends, but I think they could "clean up" just a bit and bring in a few more customers. Being a vegetarian in this area can be difficult from time to time, I appreciate what seems to be a menu with a wide selection of vegetarian friendly items, but a lot is lacking. I may have to try ordering take-out in order to give this place a shot, since we left without actually ordering anything during this particular visit. I marked "good" on the food and service simply because they appear to have a good variety of food and the staff did greet us when we entered. Make no mistakes about this; this "restaurant" is a bar,...
Read moreThere's an old woman working behind the bar that's white(race for context on whom I'm speaking of) who is downright incredibly rude. I came in looking to buy a couple rounds of drinks while waiting on a ride since I'm not from this area and it's hot outside. When I walked in she had the nastiest demeanor and unamused look on her face already before even speaking with me and downright assumed I came in to sit and eat the food I'm LITERALLY trying to take home and rather than letting me explain she calls me out in front of basically a good chunk of the restaurant which was incredibly unprofessional and could have came up to me and explained the whole ordeal with out bring basically everyone into the conversation I walked out due to having anxiety and no longer feeling comfortable. I say all this to say sometimes there's ways to go about getting your point across without coming off annoyed and causing a scene to someone who had no clue what the policy is. (Even though I've come at night a few times with food I'm taking home & have never been treated that way) 🙄 if you don't like your job or the people that come in it find a new one but don't catch an attitude with a...
Read moreWe are a couple of vegan tourists and got into town late and needed some food. RP Tracks was close and fit the bill. We got the buffalo tofu fingers for an appetizer. They're fried tofu sticks drowned in Frank's Red Hot. They come with ranch or bleu cheese sauce, neither of which is vegan, so they let us substitute their tasty vegan tomato dijon aioli. For entrees the wife got the vegetarian tofu club which is vegan as-is except for the honey wheat bread. It was great! The tofu was prepared well and it comes with that same tasty aioli. I ordered the BBQ tofu. It was good, but the cole slaw wasn't vegan and an alternative side wasn't offered. Both came with fries; wifey got steak fries and I got waffle fries. Both versions were delicious fried potato goodness.
The service was good. Our server was really nice and gave us great advice on local bars. We did have to ask a lot of questions as the menu makes no effort to identify items as vegetarian or vegan, and in turn, our server had to ask the kitchen some questions. No big deal, but it could save everyone some time if the kitchen would provide that info up front so the menu could be labeled and the...
