We came here for dinner while in Memphis on a road trip to see the eclipse. I have a running bookmark collection of places in Memphis to try since I'm in the area a good bit to see family and this spot has been on it for a while. I wasn't disappointed!
Can't say I really knew what to expect from scoping out the spot online. I was picturing a sort of indie/hipster/fusion vibe from the menu, but the inside was sort of like a college sports bar with almost some tiki inspiration along the bar. There's a lot going on here! Lol. It seemed clean and our waitress was prompt and polite if a little soft-spoken. There's adequate parking out in the back.
The menu is large and has offerings ranging from deli sandwiches (with international flair -- mostly Indian and Korean inspired), pizzas, and bibimbap bowls (also with some not-just-traditionally-Korean-flair).
My brother and sister-in-law were with me and my husband. They're not quite as adventurous eaters as we are, but they fared fine here. We split an order of mozzarella sticks to start. They came out mouth-burning hot, crispy-crunchy, and ooey-gooey. Good! 5 or 6 in an order, iirc. BIL got a muffuletta and SIL got some wings. The muffuletta was massive. Lots of places get them wrong but Sam's Deli had the right bread and crafted a great olive-y, meat-y masterpiece. BIL was happy. SIL got her wings tossed in bbq sauce, I think. The color and flavor of the sauce wasn't traditional bbq sauce, so I was worried at first, but she actually quite liked it, too. They were huge wings and kept their crunchiness even in the face of sauce and ranch.
My husband was, sadly, the only person who was unhappy. He got bibimbap (as did I), but I chose to get mine with tikka chicken and he picked Korean chicken. He didn't like the sauce/flavor of the Korean chicken and said it was too sweet. On the other hand, I quite enjoyed my chicken tikka bibimbap. Never had tikka in a bibimbap before, but it worked! The veggies were crispy and fresh, the egg was cooked properly, and my goodness it was a ton to eat. Only thing I was missing was some sort of gochujang or hot sauce to drizzle on top / mix throughout.
Overall, except my husband, we felt pretty positively about this restaurant. I would return in the future to try other...
Read moreFirst time trying this restaurant everything was fine. We ordered our drinks, the lemonade was wonderful and the beer was good, until I ordered their appetizer which was the sampler plate. The sampler plate consist of 2 hot wings, 2 samosas, and 4 cheese sticks. First, the hot wings was cold and the cheese in the mozzarella sticks wasn't cheesey or melted in my mouth. I told the waitress nicely about the wings despite not telling her about the mozzarella sticks. Finally we got our entree's which was delicious. I never had bibimbap and I'm really happy I stayed and tried it. Then they brought the wings out, corrections one wing knowing it was one left in the basket and the other picked all over. I have been to plenty of other restaurants where if the food is cold you give it to them and they bring everything back as a whole not half but whole. I didn't expect for them to bring the whole sampler plate out but only the 2 hot wings, because I didn't eat the second one due to the first one being cold. So I ask to speak with the manager she came out. I said ma'am why give me one wings when clearly I didn't eat the other one, she said because I ate the first one. I picked up the napkins for her to see the piece I tore off and the bite I spit out. After that she started arguing about them using a needle to make sure the chicken is well done and hot. Instead of going back and forward with her, I paid the 49.58 bill and left all...

First time we went, my boyfriend and I got the beef samosas, the fried pickles, a quarter Muffuletta (large enough to be a whole sandwich btw), the Pot Roast Bi Bim Bap, the Indian Sub 65, and fries. The samosas were incredible, very light and flaky and far better than Golden India's samosas. The pickles and fries were great sides with good seasoning, the Muffuletta and Sub 65 were SUPERB, and the Pot Roast bi bim bap was delicious, hearty, and full of very crispy rice. The chefs also gave us a sample of a tuna salad seaweed wrap for free, which was super bright and a great palate cleanser for the end of the meal. Everything was well cooked and well thought out.
The second time I went, I tried the Indian Special, which is a different dish that have every other day (Sunday, Tuesdays, and Thursdays I believe). I had a rich bone-in chicken curry that came with some of the freshest Naan I've had in some time. I followed it up with Double Ka Meetha, an Indian bread pudding with ice cream.
Portions are extremely generous - will be coming back every other day for the Indian special for sure, but the sandwiches are phenomenal and there's love in every dish. Family staff is very friendly and welcoming. Definitely...
