We took a road trip here as part of our summer quest for best diner / breakfast food last Thursday afternoon. We waited a bit to be seated, mostly because no hostess came forward, but there were plenty of tables in the back room. The historic diner car is pretty cool and the backroom addition also has a nostalgic feel. The waitress had no problem with my adult daughter's numerous substitutions to one of their combos and, for the most part, it came out how she wanted it. (There was a $1 upcharge for subbing french toast for pancakes, but that was fine.) I had the veggie omelette which was stuffed really well. It had a lot of broccoli and I believe onions and peppers in it, plus the swiss cheese was tasty and plentiful. I generally don't eat potatoes, but like to try one bite of the home fries just to see what they're like. Theirs were eh. Just seasoned big chunks of potatoes. Overall, it's a cool place with good food. My one complaint would be that the wait for the food to come out seemed inordinately long considering that they weren't packed or anything.

My first time there with my cousins and we had a wonderful time. Atmosphere was very homey and the food has large portions. Our waitperson was right there to make sure we all had what we needed and asked if everything was alright. There was no rush, which I appreciated and that made it comfortable. We laughed and enjoyed each others company. I had a classic breakfast which was 2 eggs, 4 sausages, Texas potatoes (scrumptious), wheat toast and coffee. My food was under $10. I thought coffee was a little high, but the food??????? SO MUCH FOOD! Would I go back? Yes I would and I'm looking forward to it. The pancakes in there are as large as a Frisbee! Choose that as a place to go and I don't think you'll be sorry. They serve breakfast all day along with a lunch/dinner menu and a child's menu.

Once you get past that this diner is in the middle of a car dealer parking and that there can be a pretty long lunch wait, this place is awesome and a couple minutes past the drive in. A charming diner, with amazingly good food. The kids loved the pancakes which were huge. The breakfast burrito was well filled and lovely and the Irish breakfast corned beef hash was superb with the perfect soft runny, over easy eggs and the home fries were superbly crisp and yummy. The prices were very reasonable too, with very friendly staff. Could have topped up the coffee a little swifter, if we're being picky but not enough to knock a star off.

Hey folks: I am the very nice hostess that Hadassah Rose mentioned in her poor review post for Miss Mendon Diner. I would like to clarify what took place during this visit. Miss Hadassah was a very difficult customer to accommodate. She was also rude to the waitress during her visit and was only nice to me. I do appreciate her being nice to me, but did not appreciate her behavior to the waitress or my manger. I have to defend the staff in this situation because we take pride in our service, food and restaurant. I have known Leslie, the manager for 25 years and had the privilege of working with her in the past and is the reason I came to work at the diner. Leslie is the hardest working manager I have ever worked for and in the time I have known her, has never raised her voice in anger or has ever been disrespectful to any of our guest. That is not the way she operates. Her motto is "Guest First!" Miss Hadassah was the one raising her voice and making a scene, that is why she was asked to leave. The hair that she mentioned, I believe was due to her coat that had fur on the rim. The hair on the coat was the same color and length of the hairs she found. I usually will not respond to negative post, but wanted others to know that the management and staff care deeply for our guest and take pride in what we do. Now, we may have an off day or something may take place that is not the norm, but remember, we all are in this together and have to realize sometimes mistakes are made. If this happens, our manager and servers try very hard to correct the situation. Come see us at the diner. Yours, the nice hostess aka...

Don't believe the "temporarily closed" status that Google is showing on this restaurant. They closed for renovations in 2020 right at the start of Covid. That part is true - in the summer of 2020, I stopped by because I was hoping to get a quick takeout order, only to see ladders and construction equipment all over the building. For some reason, they were still marked as open on Google and Doordash, and I figured it was just a mistake. I saw their announcement about shutting down for renovations after I got home and thought nothing of it.

Two years later, they posted on Facebook that the renovations were finished and they were ready to re-open. I went to investigate and... big padlock on the front door. No signs, no lights on, no nothing. 2025 is less than a week away and it hasn't changed. They're not coming back. I keep submitting edits to this business to get Google to change it to "permanently closed" and nothing happens. I'll send them some pictures of the abandoned storefront later today and see if that changes their mind.

When this restaurant WAS in business, it was a fantastic place to get breakfast or lunch with your family or your friends. I really miss it. But the owners have been radio silent for almost three years on all of their social media platforms. I don't know why they're not being up-front and honest with the community, and we probably won't ever get an answer. But Miss Mendon is not coming back, ever. Sorry to disappoint...

Wanted to love it, but was very disappointed :( Two couples met at Miss Mendon Diner for breakfast. We had eagerly awaited their reopening and are sad to say we were very disappointed. We realize it is a difficult time to be in the restaurant business. Also, that their grand reopening was just yesterday and staff are likely rusty and tired. Food: MELT (sort of an egg sandwich) was good. Hash browns, which you expect to be good at a diner, were tasteless (perhaps the Texas potatoes are better, but we were not told we had a choice, although later noted it as an option on the menu) and a quite small serving (which didn’t matter since we didn’t eat them, but typically the potatoes fill up more of your plate). Classic breakfast was fine/average. One of our party asked for a side of corned beef hash, scrambled egg, and English muffin. What came was a “benny” dish (bread, hash, egg, and cheese sauce). When we noted it wasn’t what we ordered, it was replaced, this time with scrambled egg whites. Still not what we ordered and came back with scrambled egg. Corned beef hash “is terrible and tastes funny”. We had to remind the staff that we had ordered a fruit cup – again average. Coffee was fine. Pros: staff was very friendly; in the end we were not charged for the corned beef hash mix ups Cons: very disappointed in the food; after our meal we were given the wrong check and had to point that out and ask for...
