Had an unpleasant experience this evening with Abi and her other coworker. We are big Susie Cake fans - this was our wedding cake, birthday cakes, smash cakes and the once and while cupcake or cookie. This evening we popped in to takeaway cupcakes for home and my husband was in with our two younger kids 3 years old and 16 months. Our two kids were touching the glass and the workers said please donāt have them touch the glass - fair enough. My husband apologized and disciplined our kids not to touch the glass. Our youngest still learning kept trying and the two coworkers mumbled rude comments that my husband felt so uncomfortable he left. When the older coworker noticed he left with our younger kid she gave a face and mumbled happily to Abi that they left. Our older son 3 diagnosed with autism was very gently leaning the Susie cakes free magnet on the glass. Abi stared while I continued to tell our son to just simply step away from the glass. She came around with our box and with a smile as if I couldnāt hear all their commentary the last 5 minutes asked do you want a bag. I said no thank you and decided to tell her my feedback in hope to just shed light that you donāt know what is happening within family dynamics. I let her know it is a cake establishment with glass for a reason and we understand what they were saying but that they are just kids and are learning. Her reply was itās not like they yelled at my kidsā¦.I let her know that doesnāt mean their demeanor and commentary doesnāt make people feel unwelcome. I also let her know our eldest son has autism and is still learning. We left as Abi walked over to her other colleague assumingly continuing to complain about us. Such a shame and terrible experience. Life is hard enough there just isnāt a need to have such negative miserable attitude you arenāt selling fine pieces of jewelry or clothing you are selling cupcakes behind a purposeful sneeze guard I donāt think my 16 month old son is going to break your glass. With employees like this my goodness you should advertise your shop as not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am one of the rare people that do not possess an affinity for red velvet cake. I've honestly been unimpressed with most red velvet cupcakes or cakes I've tried until my friend bought me a slice of red velvet from SusieCakes. The red velvet here is mind-blowingly delicious and incredibly addicting. Trust me -- if you only buy one slice you will wish you had purchased an entire red velvet cake for yourself. This is now my go-to bakery for any upcoming birthdays or parties!
I love their lemon bars but was not too impressed by the chocolate cake. I've heard that their confetti birthday cake is amazing. If you enjoy cupcakes, they have many different flavors and you can buy or rent cupcake stands for events.
The shop is cute and the girls working there are really helpful! I love that they have samples for you to try. They have seating room so you can enjoy a slice there if you choose to and they offer a small selection of drinks. There is lots of street parking and lot parking around the shop in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust back from here, I ordered 6 cupcakes 3 mocha, 1 mint, 1 strawberry and 1 lemon. To my horror as I sit down to enjoy my cupcake with tea and take the first bite I taste PEANUT BUTTER! I absolutely DETEST peanut butter and now I have 3 of these cupcakes and wasted $$$. This is SO DISSAPOINTING! The sales associate seemed flustered, was messing up orders before me and clearly has now messed up my order. I cannot find a email address to complain to.
I am a regular customer here and while the cupcakes are great this type of customer service is unacceptable at this price point!
Edit: Itās been a few days and I am happy to report that Susie Cakes has kindly refunded me, I appreciate their fair business practice and will be back to try the Mocha Cupcakes soon which are always yummy! Thanks...
