Service was extremely slow. We were told it'd be a 30 min wait for our food from the time we ordered. We were finally seated at 650pm, after entering the restaurant and waiting to be seated around 640pm. We didn't get our food til well after 8pm. While I understand they are supposedly understaff during the start of a holiday weekend, there was NOT a lot of people in the restaurant nor was there a "wait line" for seats. The slow service did not reflect the amount of or lack of customers at the time.
Also disappointed that we didn't get our soups or salad until I had to asked for it about an hour after putting our orders in by the server. Soups and salads should always be one of the first items out, after drink orders are delivered. All we got for about an hour of waiting was our hot teas and then our appetizer. To have 3-4 servers wandering around aimlessly and or just standing around, and not have one person come by to check and see if there is anything else we needed or was missing ... is a shame. I used to be a server, so I understand how proper wait staff should be and while I always try to be biased towards servers, yesterday's service was over all horrible.
We did not order any fancy rolls or hibachi meals, our main meal was just the sashimi for two, and the fish selection was very bland/watery tasting and the portion sizes were less than acceptable for a full price sushi restaurant. Over all, the experience yesterday was horrible. Though I did my best to keep my tongue tied down, I would suggest that the owners figure out how to find proper servers and or retrain them to be more attentive to the needs of their customers, and to find sushi chefs/assistants if they are lacking cooks/chefs on the line. waiting for nearly 1.5 hours for just raw sashimi is not acceptable in my book for a sushi experience.
Would I return? I honestly don't know. If this is how their usual service is, then no. But I am hoping that this slow service was just due to being the start of Mother's Day Weekend holiday and maybe they were...

First thing that wasn’t pleasant was walking in and being told it would be an hour before being able to get sushi at a sushi restaurant! I ordered the tofu hibachi and had so much sauce on it that the crisp of the tofu was now soft. The vegetables were also covered in sauce that was cold. My husband ordered the hibachi chicken and steak. They didn’t ask how he wanted it cooked which we thought was off but let it pass. When he got his meal the steak was completely smothered in this sauce as well and over cooked. He did muster through finishing his meal because he’s a champ but even after eating I have added a picture of how much sauce was left on his plate. I have been here before, and I wanted to bring my family from out of town to enjoy some good sushi. One of the ladies that was with me ordered a drink that she did not like. Very politely, she asked the waitress could she either replace the drink or could we have her make it over. First of all, she laughed at us and said that was one of her specialties and that she could not replace anything no if ands or buts about it.
Ultimately, we decided to leave the establishment and on the way out her and the man behind the sushi bar asked us to never come back. Which was fine because I would never again spend money here. I was disgusted, especially since we were professional the entire time.
