I have been going to Silver Dollar for dinner and/or drinks since the remodel and have always had a decent experience. Today’s experience however has really opened my eyes to their lack of customer service. My friend and I went in tonight for their 2 for 1 burger deal around 5:15. We realized after talking to our server that the special started at 6, so we waited the 45 min to put our order in. When we finally could put our order in, my roommate ordered a $9 beef burger and I tried to order a $9 veggie burger as I am a vegetarian. The waitress then told us the veggie burgers aren’t included in the deal even though it was written no where that it was excluded. The veggie burger also was listed in the menu, in the burger section by all the other beef burgers and is the same price. It seemed off to me so we challenged the waitress with a few questions as to why this is (as it is the only vegetarian option besides a salad they offer). She didn’t really have a answer and kinda just blew off our concerns when we were cleary and visually upset. We told the waitress that we didn’t want to order anything then and she kinda just nodded and left. No apologies. That was the first bad customer service experience of the night. We kinda brushed it off as our waitress seemed young and inexperienced, so we then went up to the bar to talk to the bartender who we knew had worked there a while (figuring we’d get better customer service). I was wrong. I asked him to explain why we couldn’t get he deal and his only answer was that “veggie burgers cost more” meaning the veggie patty costs more than the beef one. When I challenged his answer and said “they are both $9 on the menu why should that matter?” He shrugged his shoulders and turned away. That was the second bad customer service experience we had. After we left and I got home, I thought before I write a bad review online, I’d call and talk to the manager/owner and give them a third chance. When I called I explained the situation calmly and clearly and told the owner that it was extremely disappointing to feel so disregarded as a customer and he literally just said sorry very sarcastically and not sincere in any way. And that was the third bad customer service experience I had today. All three were from three different levels of employment from server to owner, all bad. I wish the management would grow up a little and realize that yes today you missed out on a small $9 tab, but impressions last longer. My friend and I both are not planning on giving anymore business to a place who had zero regard for their customers. I sure hope you take this review to heart and train your employees to handle...
Read moreWas in town for graduation and just happened across this place on Google maps. We called in asking if they had room for a party of 6 and they did, we said we would be there in 10 minutes. Didn't give them a name but they reserved us a table for 6 without specifically asking for one.
Big open inviting dining space with a bar. The front panels open up to the sidewalk, it was a beautiful day outside and the panels were open.
Lots of choices for bothe domestic standards and craft beers on draught, the menu was a bit limited but standard for a bar and grill type place. The food took a bit to come out but was well worth the wait. Everything was delicious and the whole table enjoyed their meals, even my picky dad. I had the blue devil burger with a side of curds and a few Surley Hells.
My only regret is I won't be back in the area again. Go there if...
Read moreIt's just too expensive. I think the price for a burger and fries has more than doubled in less than the years. The place is great and the food is not bad (it's what you would expect for a bar and grill type place, the wings are real good though) but it's just overpriced, not to mention they pass on the 4% charge if you use a card. A burger and a coke ends up running around 25 dollars after tip (and that's without ordering alcohol).
I like it a lot and go there for wing night specials sometimes but it's just too costly. I make a decent living but there are better burger places around for less money. Not worth stopping if you are just passing through. I would go there if I was going to be in town for a couple days just to try it and get...
