This Review pertains to the pizza only... If I were to describe it in two words only, that would be Ketchup Bread. The pieces were an inch and a half high with a thin tomato base spread across the top and covered in cheese. They did not skimp on the amount of cheese which was a plus, but their idea of a "meat lovers" was 2 slices of pepperoni and 1 slice of sausage on a 4x4 inch square. You're not loving the meat, you're looking at it's butt when it can't see you. The "Veggie Pizza" was the same thick bread, tomato spread, and cheese, but also had green and red pepper pieces in the cheese along with red onion. As peppers and onion are veggies, I won't say that this is not a "veggie pizza", but I would say that it barely qualifies. Some of the standard toppings found on other veggie pizzas include spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, artichoke, zucchini, arugula, kale, eggplant, and mushrooms. I'm not saying that a single pizza needs all of that, but some places choose to do more than the minimum and we encourage that. We just want you to express yourselves; you do want to express yourself, don't you? As far as filling - it's 24 cubic inches of bread per piece... yes, it's filling. The taste was rather unimpressive. The sauce was neither salty nor sweet, but also not overly bitter; it was simply bland. When compared to Little Caesar's, others who had this with me, myself included, would have preferred...
Read moreThis place is Mentor's hidden gem! This is one of those places that doesn't need to be fancy they just make good food.Their Pastrami Tsunami is my absolute favorite! I pass this place and can almost taste their Pastrami Tsunami. It is literally the best sandwich I have ever had in my life and I've been around a while so I have many sandwiches under my belt. (Literally) fresh baked bread, outstanding Pastrami, provolone cheese and a sweet coleslaw. Honestly, I'm not one who likes coleslaw but this sandwich makes it taste like heaven. The flavors and products you can get here are all top notch. Their stuffed peppers, Stromboli, pizza, and Italian beef are all some of our other favorites. The atmosphere gets 4 stars because they interior could use an update and all of their products are kind of spread out in a wonky way. You can buy fresh made pasta and breads if you go towards the dining room. The walls are lined with coolers and racks of authentic and house made products you can buy and make your kitchen a little Italy. I would love to see them expanse their menu to dinner entrees because they would be the...
Read moreI visited Verdi's because one of their sub trays was brought to a holiday party and I really, really liked it. However after my visit today to grab one for dinner, I will never go back. The sub was ok, not as good as the other one. But my reason for not going back is because of the way I was treated. I am African American and when it came time for me to order and be handed my order the cashier had something else to do first. Took everyone's order but mine, then had to do something else. Then returned looking around to everyone but me who was still in front of her and ask" has everyone been taking care of". Then when my sandwich ready, because the sandwich maker calls out names. She did it again and I had to tell her my sandwich was ready. So yeah no, I won't be going back. I mean I knew I was the only black person in the market that night,I didn't think ever. Clearly based on her treatment towards me, I was somewhere I shouldn't have been and they don't want or...
