We were able to get seating very quickly, which I appreciated. The servers were very nice and patient with us so we felt comfortable taking our time.
Food
This restaurant values more of the quantity side of the food rather than the quality side. THIS IS NOT A BAD THING. KEEP READING.
This restaurant values quantity. But the catch is the sacrifice of the overall quality. But as I said, it's not a bad thing. The torta con pollo with fries was 15 dollars. In San Francisco, the torta would have been 10 dollars plus 6 dollars for the fries and 2 dollars worth of taxes. And thats assuming there are no increase in meat prices. So having that much fries with my torta is a blessing because it covered two-thirds of the plate
Although the fries were a lot, they were a bit cold. Some people will get very upset about their food being served cold and I get it. But the restaurant is very compliant with accommodating concerns and issues. We asked for tortillas and they were served very hot so it's not a common occurrence of cold food.
Atmosphere
It was cozy and warm where we sat and the tables were big enough to provide good spacing for the food, but there was music playing in the background that overlapped the TV playing so it was a bit overwhelming. It didn't bother me to the extent in which I had to leave, but it was distracting. The servers were really kind and helpful and made my experience better.
Overall, I enjoyed my...
Read moreWe were greeted and seated promptly. Then we reseat ourselves. There seemed to be a very profound perfume scent...which was very overpowering. I later realized it was one of the waitresses. We were asked what we would like to order before receiving the menus, I asked,"Do you have agua de jamica?" Not all Mexican restaurants serve this amazing beverage. But they did. Very good! Anways. Both myself and boyfriend requested the Jamica. We were brought salsa n chips with some refried beans with cheese which were served as appetizer. He had sopes of carne asada which was towered with lettuce tomato and cheese, which is a custom to serve rice and beans. I had what was called a Mar Y Tierra. Which is ocean n earth. Or ocean n dirt. 😁 well that was some 3 tasty medium sized butterflied shrimp cooked in seasoned butter😋😋with a thin full carna asada steak. Accompanied by rice n cheese topped beans. Also a large jalapeno that was grilled 😍 to perfection and some flour tortillas😳. The food was good, experience was good cutomer service was good. Waitresses very friendly😁😆 all in all it was a good meal a bit pricey for amount of food received... I would go back if They lower the prices a bit and not wear overpowering perfume. Other than that. Go check them out. It is a quaint little place that's nice and clean good service all around. Very courteous, prompt...
Read moreAgave's made an interesting move across from their prior location which they've kept in the Promenade. It's a sort of a La Hacienda I and 2 move. Unlike the old LaHa 1 which was better than the 2nd, the new Agave's is better.
The staff is top notch, friendly and offer quick, efficient service. We had the same server as our prior visit and she remembered my brother who was thirsty that night for Coke 0. The chips and salsa are a hit. Agave's is not protective about the chips, as they actively ask if you'd like more and bring it...
The wet or dry burritos are huge and they even have a supreme which is even bigger. You will go for dinner and leave with lunch. Refried beans and rice is a nice bonus on meals. The Chile Relleno is a good selection as well.
The menu is huge, think "Cheese Cake Factory." They have a good selection of cocktails and margaritas etc. I recommend Agave's and it's a nice repurposing of the...
